Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is my 1976 Honda CVCC wagon. I purchased this car from the second owner this past summer for my son, who has since joined the armed forces and no longer needs it. I need the space in my garage or I would certainly keep this classic for myself. The original owner used this vehicle as a tow behind car (car has removable front tow bar) on his RV so actual driven miles are not known, but according to the owner testament and receipts, the odometer is correct. I purchased the car locally from the second owner who is a friend and a foreign sports car mechanic. At 118,281 (approx. 2 years ago) the engine, carb and clutch were removed, re-machined, rebuilt and put back together. At that point the car has been garaged and not driven much and never in the salt and snow. Since owning the Honda, we have only driven it enough to run 1 1/2 tanks of high octane through the motor. It still idles a bit rough at first start, but drives smooth after that. It sat along time and will need a few more tanks of new fuel and carb cleaner before it runs like new again. I have driven back and forth to Minneapolis twice (300 mile roundtrip) without any trouble. The car has also been repainted at some point and is now a bright royal blue instead of it's original light blue. I will do my best to list all known pluses and minuses below. Buyers are welcome to come and look and hear it run, but I will only allow a test drive to a serious buyer because of all of the snow and salt on the roads up here. The car is located in Superior, WI.The good:I had new front slotted rotors, calipers and pads installed in August (rear brakes were fine)A new Interstate battery was also installed this summer (The car fires up every time no matter how cold...minus 15 this morning!)Factory wood steering wheelCustom made rear speaker boxes w/ Infinity speakers wired to front (the car currently has no radio, but wiring is all there)Front mounted tow bar (removable)Tires are almost brand new (maybe 1,000 miles)Trailer hitch and wiring harness (original owner towed a canoe and trailer)I have scoured the car with magnets and can't find any body filler. There is no indication that the car has ever been in any type of accident (small or large)The car comes with both owners manuals, receipts and Honda shop manual.Once warmed up, the car drives great with plenty of power and the clutch is tight with no slop.No leaks or drips anywhere.Car drives straight as an arrow.Parts for this car are crazy cheap and easily available.Known Issues:The exhaust is full of holes, but I have a mint condition replacement that I will throw in with the saleThe weather stripping needs replacement (JC Whitney sells for roughly $40 bucks). Rain doesn't enter the car, but it will leak around side doors when you wash it.After painting, the chrome emblems and side trim were not replaced and seemed to have been lost. The emergency brake cam is stuck, so it will need to be repaired before the e-brake can be used ( I just leave it in gear when parked)The carpet is worn, but not too bad for it's age. The seat upholstery is shot, but will look fine with new seat covers. Dash has one small crack, but is otherwise in great shape. There is a tiny (smaller than a pencil eraser) chip in the windshield, all other glass in clean.Passenger side ball joint will need to be replaced at some point (makes a clicking noise during hard left turns). I have seen new axle with joint sell on Ebay for $35.00Rust wise: the underside is very clean, floor pans are clean, there are a few tiny surface spots here and there. The panels under the side doors have the bulk of it with it mainly concentrated on the passenger side as seen in the pics. There is a small rust through spot below the front pass door on the rocker, but everything else seems to be light surface only. Overall great condition for it's age and location. The chrome on the bumpers is pretty clean with the exception of a bit of oxidation on the bends as seen in the pics.I have done my best to list all known issues with the car. I have bought and sold many vehicles on Ebay and always try to do to others as I would like to have done when I am bidding. Feel free to let me know if you need any additional information or pics. I have perfect feedback, so bid/buy with confidence. A $500.00 deposit is required via cash, cashiers check or PayPal within 3 days of auction close with the balance due on or before pickup. I would like to have the car picked up within 5 days of auction close unless otherwise agreed upon PRIOR to bidding. Please keep in mind that this car is 36 years old and one of the original Honda's to be sold in the USA, so don't expect it to drive and handle like a Cadillac! Any shipping or delivery of the car is the complete responsibility of the winning bidder. Non paying bidders will be reported to Ebay.
