Vehicle Detail
THIS IS A BEAUTIFUL 2000 TOYOTA CELICA GT-S. VERY SPORTY AND PEPPY AND VERY DEPENDABLE CAR. SILVER WITH A CARBON FIBER-LOOK HOOD STRIPE AS SEEN IN PICTURES, AND A NICE AND CLEAN VERY GOOD CONDITION BLACK LEATHER INTERIOR. MY LAST TOYOTA RAN TO 230,000 MILES BEFORE I SOLD IT AND THIS ONE ONLY IS AROUND 133,000, ALTHOUGH COSMETICALLY AND MECHANICALLY YOU WOULD THINK THE MILAGE WAS MUCH LESS. THIS CAR POSSESS MANY LUXURIOUS FEATURES, AMENITIES, AND EXTRAS THAT WERE ADDED. READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION ABOUT THIS FANTASTIC RIDE OF THE GT-S VERSION CELICA. As mentioned by Edmunds.com, a very reliable car analysis, the 2000 Celica enters its seventh generation considerably leaner and meaner. Styled in the United States by Calty Design Research Inc. in Newport Beach, Calif., the cab-forward design features a high-fashion look with racecar design elements. Sharp-edged panels, dramatic plunging curves, a tall tail and a radically lowered front fascia are stark contrasts. Compared to past models, Celica is shorter in length, but longer in wheelbase. There are two versions for 2000: a base-level Celica GT, and a more-powerful GT-S. An all-new 1.8-liter, four-cylinder, DOHC all-aluminum engine powers the Celica GT-S. Hitting an impressive mark of 100 horsepower per liter of displacement, the engine generates 180 horsepower at 7,600 rpm and 133 foot-pounds of torque at 6,800 rpm. The GT-S powerplant, co-developed with Yamaha, utilizes Toyota's new VVTL-i engine technology. Similar in concept to Honda's VTEC, the system can adjust both valve timing and lift. The GT model's 1.8-liter, four-cylinder engine produces 140 horsepower and 125 foot-pounds of torque at 6,400 rpm. The 2000 Celica GT and GT-S are both available with different variations of all-new automatic and manual transmissions. The newly developed four-speed automatic transmission is found in both the GT and GT-S models. The GT-S also comes with E-shift steering wheel-mounted buttons, similar to those found in the Lexus GS 400. These allow "manual" shifting of the automatic transmission. As an exclusive feature in this class, the manual transmission in the GT-S features six forward gears. The suspension and braking systems also have been upgraded. The front suspension is outfitted with MacPherson struts with offset springs and a solid anti-roll bar. The rear suspension is a double-wishbone design with a new camber-control function and a solid anti-roll bar. ABS is optional on both models. The Celica GT rides on 15x6.5-inch steel wheels with 195/60 R15 tires, while the high-grade GT-S features 15x6.5-inch alloy wheels on 205/55 R15 tires. Both models offer optional aluminum alloy wheels. The 2000 Celica's interior has also been significantly altered. A simple cross-over dash layout, big analog gauges, sporty bucket seats and a purpose-built feel behind the wheel add to Celica's cockpit experience. Both Celica grade levels offer a center console big enough to hold eight CD cases, as well as two oversized cups. The rear seatbacks also can be folded forward, providing additional trunk space. Driver and front-passenger airbags are standard, and side airbags are optional. This particlar car is the automatic GT-S version described above with the steering wheel button mounted shifting and other amenities as described. An exhaust muffler was added for a mild sound and sporty look. European racing tail lights were added. A ram air looking hoodscoop with professionally painted custom carbon fiber racing stripe was added as you see in the pictures. Neon license plate light. Alpine CD player added. I bought this car used with 140K miles and put another 60K on it in 2 years. The car is extremely reliable and has had no mechanical issues. Sadly, a man in a Ford F150 broad sided us at 70 mph and totaled my nice little red car. He had to be towed and we loaded up our loose and knocked off parts in the hatch and kept driving. This car is so much fun to drive on twisty roads because its handling allows the car to scream through tight curves. Another bonus is its consistent 32 mpg. It has been as high as 36 mpg (ideal conditions @ 60 mph). It's been a great car and I hate to see it go. Favorite Features: Looks, handling, fuel economy, and reliability. #2. I bought my dark blue 2000 Toyota celica brand new in 2000. I was lucky to find a promotional car with no sunroof. This is the only way my 6foot 5 inch frame would fit. I fit perfectly. Plenty of leg, head and shoulder room. One of the few modern Japanese small cars I can fit in. This car was completely trouble free for the first 80,000 miles. I just changed and flushed the fluids and replaced the stock tires every 50,000 miles. Replaced the breaks and spark plugs every 100,000 miles. At 200,000 miles I replaced the struts and the clutch. The only problem I have had has been a check engine light that came on at 80k. That light would come and go over the next 100k then never come on again. But it never meant anything. Favorite Features: This Car handles Excellent with no body roll. The ride quality is very good above 20 mph. It is very comfortable for two people on a long trip. Fuel economy is excellent. I have averaged 33 mpg over 270,000 miles. It is hard to dip below 28 mpg. In slow traffic I can hit 36 MPG. It is quick and light. This particular Toyota Celica GT-S is very clean and nice. The pictures you see are actually after a car wash, but the interior was not even detailed nor was the engine, so any dust you may see will come right off with ease. Additionally, my family owns a body shop and I was rear ended years ago, so with our estimate of the rear damage from the accident, the car got a repaired/salvage title along with new everything that had even the slightest bit of damage in the rear. Lucky you! New rear bumper, etc. Buyer can come pick up the car, or arrangements can be made for delivery right to your driveway for additional price depending on location. All in all, you will be very satisfied with this great sporty car. I am only getting rid of it because I have a second child on the way and needing an SUV. Although for the last two years, my two-year-old has been enjoying herself riding in the rear seat on every trip we make. Very sad to see this car go. Good luck in bidding for this rare sports car, and enjoy once purchased!
