This door is operable once the passenger's door is open, and can be opened from inside or out. Two adults should be reasonably comfortable on longer trips in the back seat. With the rear seat folded forward there's a flat, sturdy steel surface, great for carrying toolboxes or large amounts of luggage(SEE PICTURES). This 1998 Ford F-150 XL Supercab is in far better condition than one would expect to find in a vehicle of this year. It's exterior color is Pacific Green Clearcoat Metallic and looks to have been very cared for by its smooth and still glossy surface. Front and rear chrome bumpers, rear step bumper with tow ball, bedliner, and aluminum diamond plated locking tool box. The interior is also in great shape, it's clear at first glance that this was NOT an everyday work truck. The seats are surfaced in Medium Graphite cloth and have NO rips, tears, muchless any signs of heavy wear. Dash, trim, door panels and flooring are in just as great of shape. Interior switches and controls are all functioning and in place. The 1998 Ford F-Series' interior was a breakthrough in it's prime. Stepping out of one of the competitive vehicles, like a Chevy or Dodge, and into the F-Series was like going from a Yugo to a Lincoln. All of the Ford's hard edges have been softened, and the interior materials are not something that one would expect to see in a vehicle meant for a hard day's work. When put to the test, however, the Ford's interior can stand up to the rigors thrown at it by the meanest of foreman and orneriest of ranch hands. Until this vehicle came onto the scene, ergonomic and truck were not words that we were likely to use in the same sentence. With the 40/60 split-bench front seat, driver and passenger have individually reclining backrests. What can serve as the center backrest is also a folding armrest; when folded forward. The split bench front seat is widely versatile and offers six-passenger seating. The driver is faced with clearly legible instrumentation, and important controls are close and easy to operate. There are a pair of cupholders in the instrument panel, and a goodly number of the expected storage compartments and map pockets here and there. The view outward is superb, as the F-Series styling includes a low beltline and big windows all around. The F-Series also has a new front suspension with upper and lower control arms. It replaces the ancient Twin I-Beam, and we're thankful. With this suspension, the ride is far better, handling is superior, steering feel is drastically improved and directional stability, such as when traveling at highway speeds in a severe crosswind, is immensely enhanced. The engine is a economical and responsive 210 horsepower and 255 foot-pounds of torque, 4.2-liter V6 engine mated to a smooth shifting 4-Speed Automatic Transmission with Overdrive. This vehicle runs and drives great. This F-150 is in great mechanical condition; you are more than welcome to have a certified mechanic check it out. All SuperCabs include a third door on the passenger's side for entry to the back seat. This door is operable once the passenger's door is open, and can be opened from inside or out. Two adults should be reasonably comfortable on longer trips in the back seat. With the rear seat folded forward there's a flat, sturdy steel surface, great for carrying toolboxes or large amounts of luggage(SEE PICTURES).
This 1998 Ford F-150 XL Supercab is in far better condition than one would expect to find in a vehicle of this year. It's exterior color is Pacific Green Clearcoat Metallic and looks to have been very cared for by its smooth and still glossy surface. Front and rear chrome bumpers, rear step bumper with tow ball, bedliner, and aluminum diamond plated locking tool box. The interior is also in great shape, it's clear at first glance that this was NOT an everyday work truck. The seats are surfaced in Medium Graphite cloth and have NO rips, tears, muchless any signs of heavy wear. Dash, trim, door panels and flooring are in just as great of shape. Interior switches and controls are all functioning and in place.
The 1998 Ford F-Series' interior was a breakthrough in it's prime. Stepping out of one of the competitive vehicles, like a Chevy or Dodge, and into the F-Series was like going from a Yugo to a Lincoln. All of the Ford's hard edges have been softened, and the interior materials are not something that one would expect to see in a vehicle meant for a hard day's work. When put to the test, however, the Ford's interior can stand up to the rigors thrown at it by the meanest of foreman and orneriest of ranch hands. Until this vehicle came onto the scene, ergonomic and truck were not words that we were likely to use in the same sentence.
With the 40/60 split-bench front seat, driver and passenger have individually reclining backrests. What can serve as the center backrest is also a folding armrest; when folded forward. The split bench front seat is widely versatile and offers six-passenger seating. The driver is faced with clearly legible instrumentation, and important controls are close and easy to operate. There are a pair of cupholders in the instrument panel, and a goodly number of the expected storage compartments and map pockets here and there. The view outward is superb, as the F-Series styling includes a low beltline and big windows all around.
The F-Series also has a new front suspension with upper and lower control arms. It replaces the ancient Twin I-Beam, and we're thankful. With this suspension, the ride is far better, handling is superior, steering feel is drastically improved and directional stability, such as when traveling at highway speeds in a severe crosswind, is immensely enhanced.
The engine is a economical and responsive 210 horsepower and 255 foot-pounds of torque, 4.2-liter V6 engine mated to a smooth shifting 4-Speed Automatic Transmission with Overdrive. This vehicle runs and drives great. This F-150 is in great mechanical condition; you are more than welcome to have a certified mechanic check it out.
