1024x768 Normal 0 false false false Up for auction is a 1951 Chevrolet ½ ton project truck. This truck has been fit with mounts for a small block Chevy engine w/ headers and turbo 350 trans. It has a narrowed Ford 8.8 rear axle and a stock front straight axle fit with a disc brake conversion kit. The kit uses standard GM rotors and calipers, Note: the calipers are not included. The truck has been lowered, the steering box and column have been moved outward to accommodate the width of the V8 engine, the column is now centered between the dash gauge pockets, the truck rolls and steers. The body has had new outer cab corners and a new LH cowl panel installed, the fire wall has been moved back to accommodate the engine setback and is complete. Panels been added in the front cab floor to reinforce the cab mount bolts and the kick panels have been repaired and look close to stock. The box has been shortened by 6 inches in the front and has been repaired and strengthened, no bed floor has been installed. All four fenders have been patched where needed, mostly the bottom edges of the where they meet the running boards. The body does have small dents and dings, but no filler of any kind has been applied. What you see in the pictures is all steel with two coats of primer, no surprises lurking under layers of body filler! The engine in the truck is stuck and was just for mocking up the mounts and steering. The transmission was working when pulled, but should be gone through. Both come with the truck. Also included are the headers which are in very good shape just surface rust. I do not have any paperwork for this truck, but the ID plate and VIN are intact. I don't know about other states, but in NY all you need is a rubbing of the plate and proof of insurance to register, I just did one this past spring. On Dec-31-10 at 09:43:02 PST, seller added the following information: A few people have been asking for more details so here is what I have: All of the glass is intact except for the drivers door, it is there but cracked. The outside door handles are now on the truck and I even have a key that works both locks! I have the inside door handles. I have a front bumper, not chrome. I have the original gas tank and filler neck. I have an extra front axle and spindles that needs new king pins. I have the original horn button, the front marker lights and the headlight buckets.Thanks for looking and bidding!
