Up for the bidding is a beautiful 1974 Datsun: 260Z. Over the years, the Z series has brought forth some of the highest performance and gorgeous vehicles in their class. This Z boasts one of the most breathtaking colors I have ever laid eyes upon and I am already regretting letting her go. Another strength of this car is the flexibility on how you would like to customize her. You can perform various swaps, such as: RB25DET, SR20DET, or even a Chevy 350! Contact Information:Justin706-633-3403 Body: The body is in very good condition, however there are some minor issues: Over the last year that I have had the car, I have suffered two incidents where an unknown driver has dinged and backed up into the car. Both of these damages have been outline in the pictures below. Aside from these two defects, she is absolutely amazing. Wherever I take her, I get nothing but compliments and envious glares. Engine & Mechanics: Mechanically, the car is almost perfect. She is practically all original, so it is safe to assume that there will be parts going out from time to time. The only upgrade that I have done to the engine is swapping out the carb system. The original carb system had an SU setup that was very difficult to work on and an extreme pain in the winter months. I swapped the system out to a 4-Barrel system that has increased the drive ability and functionality of the car. The only draw back is that the gas pedal is slightly stiffer than it once was due to the linkage system that was once in place. This linkage system was replaced with a throttle cable system. I will leave details on this below. She has a year correct inline 6-cylinder engine and 4-Speed manual transmission. She runs and shifts like she was bought brand new last year! Prepare to replace the brakes as they are wearing very quickly. It looks as though the original calipers are still in place as well as the drums. I used her as a daily driver in the Summer months with no signs of strain or problems. The Bad: Overall, the Z is in fantastic condition. However, the only drawback is the electrical system. On top of these cars never having a very well insulated wiring harness, the previous owner did some very interesting work. The majority of the instruments on the interior are not functioning well, or not at all. The lighting system is pretty dim, which I am sure is due to some ground that is loose somewhere within wiring. I'm sure that replacing the wiring harnesses will correct all of these issues. I simply never had the money to do this. The only thing really stopping you from driving this car home is the fact that the brake lights aren't working at the moment. The sound system works very well, however, it does need some work. I would advise taking it to a local shop to have all the kinks worked out of it. She is a 40 year old car and should not be purchased as a daily driver. Buy this vehicle with the intentions of doing a partial restoration.
