**********VIDEO LINK AT END OF DESCRIPTION********* What you are viewing is a beautifully restored 1956 Chevrolet where a tasteful balance has been maintained between the classic look and certain modern advances. If you just don't 'get' resto mod but aren't wanting a car that never departs from O.E.M., you may be looking at the perfect mix. Let me begin by stating that this is pretty much a new car having undergone a full frame off restoration where every nut and bolt was removed and what isn't brand new has been restored/rebuilt and repainted. I would like to point out the beautiful combination of colors. The paint is a PPG three stage from their "radiance" catalog of "Hot Lips" red, Pearl white and Pearl black. The white and red two tone mimics the classic color combinations of that period but livens them up with the pearly luster of modern paint. The pearl black was chosen for the grill because it was our intention to give the car a tough, yet pretty, classic hot rod look and many have said that the 56 had too much chrome up front to pull that look off. We are confident that we've succeeded and not only does the dark grill coordinate exceptionally well with the front chrome it also ties in nicely with the gloss black centers of the American Racing wheels. Furthermore, in the interior we painted the upper portion of the dash pearl white and the lower portion pearl black to match the white and black of the new interior from Ciadellas. The motor and engine compartment are black because it really sets off the chrome accents and, quite frankly, aren't you just a little bored with bright chevy orange? We are and so we decided to step out of the cookie cutter look and do something a bit different. You be the judge. The power plant is a 454 that dynoed at 500 h.p. It is a fresh rebuild with roller rockers, double cam chain, beefier push rods and other components incorporated to handle the horses. Externally you'll see a new 750 cfm Edelbrock carburetor, new Edelbrock manifold and Patriot ceramic coated headers. Again, it is a wise and intentional balance of power so that there are enough horses rumbling under your pedal to get' er done when the need arises but not so crazy that it won't run on pump gas, nor do you need to stop at every gas station. While speaking of this Chevy's ability to stomp the neighborhood bullies into a quivering pile of plastic, I should also emphasize that this has not been someone's abused street rod. When you take delivery of the car it will probably have less than 50 miles on it and no one will have been out lighting up the tires. It was built to be sold and we don't really know what it will do when you step on it coming out of the hole but with the Magnaflo exhaust and old school straight pipes it will sound like a jail break outta hell! In other words, if you're a mamby pamby sort who wants his/her ride to sound like grandma's Toyota Camry this won't be a good fit. Mated to the 500 horses of American muscle is a Muncie four speed transmission with a Hurst competition shifter. The bell housing for the clutch is also a classic, the "Bullet Proof," so that nothing comes through the floor on one of those wild Friday nights. The rear end is a 12 bolt posi taken out of a 68 Chevelle. The car simply resonates with classic hot rod components! It has tall gears but with the beast that dwells under the hood it gets up and boogies and having the higher gear ratio opens up the freeway and all points distant. The attractive stance of this classic was accomplished by 2" drop spindles up front and customized front coil springs that are rated for the vehicles heavier weight. To further improve the 'look' we put 15" wheels at the nose and 17" rims in the rear. The following is a list of things which are BRAND NEW under the hood: Numerous internal components of the motor. Carburetor, intake manifold, air cleaner, valve covers, HEI distributor, starter, plugs, plug wires, rebuilt alternator, electric fuel pump, master cylinder, power brake booster, aluminum triple core radiator, electric fan, voltage regulator, fuel filters, hoses, belts, motor mounts, brake and power steering lines, as well as all bushings, ball joints and other steering related components. The following is a list of everything that is BRAND NEW on the exterior of the car: Front and rear bumpers with bumper guards, park light assemblies (bezels, lenses, internal components and wiring), chrome tie bar, head light bezels, chrome eye brows over park lights, Chevrolet crest both front and rear, rear Belair script, driver's side rear view mirror, all of the glass except for the rear window, American Racing rims, and B.F. Goodrich tires. In addition, all of the stainless trim has been polished and buffed to a high luster. The following is a list of everything that is BRAND NEW inside of the car: The interior from the carpet to the headliner, retro style steering wheel, ididit tilting steering column, accelerator, brake and clutch pad, floor mats, gauges, tachometer, glove compartment, courtesy light, window felt, weather stripping, heater control valve, most wiring, shifter boot and knob, sill plates and some dash bezels. In the trunk there is a new trunk liner and a new battery. The following is a list of everything that is BRAND NEW under the car: The clutch plate, pressure plate, throw out and pilot bearing as well as much of the linkage (internally the transmission has been thoroughly inspected and there isn't a single chipped tooth and the synchros are in excellent shape also). New brake calipers, new pads, new drums, new shoes, new brake spring kits, new wheel cylinders, new brake lines, new emergency brake linkage and cables, new front coil springs, new 2" drop spindles, new frame mounting bolts and rubbers, new fuel tank, new sending unit, new fuel line, new filler tube and gasket, new speedomoeter gear, new rear stabilizer bar, new mufflers, and new pipes. As I stated at the outset, this is pretty much a new car. The doors shut without ANY rattles and we even replaced the heater core valve so that the heater would work as it was designed.. We kept the original radio because it is in show quality condition and maintains the original look of the dash but we didn't install speakers because most owners go with some modern conversion.
