This auction is a rare 68 Mercury Cougar XR-7 with a factory 4-speed. The car has been repainted using factory paint 10 years ago. The interior was restored. The car is all original the rebuilt engine. The 302-2V engine was replaced in 1989 with the same factory motor that was rebuilt in 1999 at a cost of $3,592 . The brake system was redone at a of $828 in 2002. The headlight vacuum system was redone is 2003 at a cost of$221. After i bought the car i had South Austin Speed shop in an aftermarket A/C system at a cost of $5500. All receipts for work is in hand. The car is rust free, save for the bottom of the floor pan, with has a small rust hole as well. It should be fixed before it becomes a problem. The taillights are fulling functional. All the glass is excellent. The Body is straight. The driver inside door pocket need to be fixed and put back on. I removed it because it is ripped. The car runs and drives great, but the carb is now leaking from one of the gaskets. The carb needs to be rebuilt or replace before it is driven. A lot of documentation is included.
