This car is rust-free, and is garage kept. I purchased the car in California and had is shipped to the East Coast. It had remained garaged during the winter, and I doubt it has been exposed much to rain or snow. The 1990 model was the first year for this car, and to find one with the “B” package in this color is rare. The mileage belies the condition as you can see by the photos. The car has had consistent good care. I received if from a guy who always used Mobile One, and even went as far as to take the doors apart to put lubricant on the window sliders. He told me that a Mazda dealer owned the car before he purchased it. The car works perfectly from every aspect. This MX-5 has minimal body wear. I have not taken it to the paint shop to fix the imperfections, but I did capture some as best I could in the photos. I have more of these photos upon request (I could only upload 24 photos due to eBay restriction). I took the car to the Mazda dealership on 22 November, 2010, and asked them to hook it up to their computer. No error codes were found, and thy checked all the fluids. I change the oil every spring with Mobile One, and the next time it is due is in 4,000 miles from now (5,000 mile changes). Engine. Starts easily, no smoke, no funny sounds. I changed all the belts last year except for the timing belt. Clutch/transmission. Clutch works well, transmission is smooth. This is a five-speed. Tires/rims. The tires were new when I received the car two years ago. They can’t have more than 5,000 miles on them. The rims are in good shape, and I purchased new hubs last summer as the old ones were discolored. Top. The car has hard and soft tops. I purchased new rear rubber pads for the hard top and installed them. The hard top has some nicks in it which are normal wear and not really noticeable. The soft top is perfect except for the rear window that shows some yellowing due to sun damage. You can still see out of it. Audio. The original stereo was replaced with a Clarion. Having owned three of these, my experience is that the original stereo wears poorly and eventually starts eating your CDs. The clarion has a detachable face so that you can take it easily with you for theft protection. It has USB and phone jacks, remote control, and is hooked into the door, headrest, and subwoofer speakers. The subwoofer is in the trunk, and can easily be removed for trunk space. The subwoofer has independent controls. Terms. A $500 non-refundable deposit is required within 24 hours of auction end via PayPal.
