Offered for sale is a classic 1985 Mercedes Benz 300 TD Wagon, the Queen Mary, named after the original owner, is one of my parents dearest friends. I am only the second proud owner of this timeless vehicle. It was part of the beautiful 123 series station wagon. This car has only 146k original miles on it and drives accordingly. It was finished in "deep blue" or "surf blau " (MB color code 900) with dark blue MB-Tex interior. Service Records are available for all years and I will provide this information upon request for serious bidders (once the low minimum has been met). The car was serviced at the West Chester Mercedes Benz dealership up until 2004, then I purchased and the vehicle was serviced in Catonsville, MD until June of 2007, since then it has been serviced by a Mercedes Benz specialist in North Carolina. Cosmetic Condition: This wagon is in great condition throughout. The paint is in superior condition all around, except at the bottom of the rear window (see attached picture). The interior is clean especially considering it is a 1985 vehicle. There are no rips or tears in the seats and the carpets are clean, a few minor stains. The wood is in exceptional condition and still looks like new. The dashboard does have a couple of small hairline cracks, but one hardly notices them. The car has great lines with lots of heavy duty chrome. Please note the chrome luggage rack with the chrome cross bars, I have them installed in one picture, but they are normally kept in the trunk, picture shown. Also note the original First Aid Kit designed specifically for Mercedes Benz, still totally intact. One change to the original equipment, I replaced the AM/FM stereo cassette player with a high end Alpine AM/FM CD player. Other than that it is all original inside....They really do not build them like this anymore. With all this being said, one of the best attributes is the way it drives. Drive/Road Qualities: Since 2007, I have driven 88 miles each way to the Charlotte International Airport, 2-3 times a month, 80 of those miles are interstate. This wagon cruises at 80+ mph extremely well, no vibration, with the large steering wheel it is a pleasure to drive. The car has excellent acceleration and handles corners well. The transmission shifts smoothly though out all gears. It always starts up right away, idles smooth and does not smoke like many other older diesels. This car is the most solid car I have ever owned, it was built to last and has well over 300,000 miles left to go. Recent Mechanical Work: This car has been consistently maintained on schedule to the highest standards. December 1st all fluids and filters have been changed, the valves adjusted. This past September, I replaced and installed a new A/C Compressor and hoses installed; in October it passed NC Inspection, in November, two front Michelin Harmony P195/70R tires were installed and the front end aligned and a new ignition and tumbler were installed. Plus again I have all mechanical receipts that has been done since I purchased approximately 7 years ago and can provide you the mechanics who have worked on the vehicle. Additional Comments: · This classic 300 TD will not disappoint any reasonable buyer, a sturdy, dependable and cost efficient vehicle to operate for many years down the road. Passed NC inspection October 15, 2010. · My personal mechanic has agreed to speak specifically about this car to serious bidders, once the low minimum has been met.
