1982 Volkswagen Rabbit convertible Karmann edition. Has only 55xxx miles on it, last plated in Illinois in 1993. Has been storage most of life which explains its good body condition. Car was bought on the east coast and serviced at the dealership during its first years of ownership, have the dealer service book that came with car and there stamps. I bought it a couple of months ago as a project and cheap driver, it was not running. It is running now. I have put new air filter, fuel filter, ingnition switch, accelerator cable and bushing, battery, and new rear brakes. Tires are like new, they have no cracks. Glass is all good. Front windshield has one small rock chip that I did not see till I windexed the glass. Car is 5 speed, has air conditioning. I have the spare tire, trunk carpeting, and the one trim piece that is off the front drv. fender. I have got too many projects going on (house projects and I have a 57 chevy), so this is the one that is going. I have the Bentley repair manual and the car is super easy to work on, in fact this is the easiest car I have ever worked on. Parts are cheap and available at any parts store, I have been getting everything at Advance auto and they either have had it in stock or had it next day for free. Title clear and in my hand. Three projects left on the car: Needs new top, has three 1-3" rust holes(nothing structural) that need patched and it has a couple of light dings(I planned on repainting the car), and I think it needs a clutch(parts are cheap). Car will move, but will need trailered to its new home. My Dad is retired and can deliver the car within 200 miles for a dollar a mile, we have a nice car trailer. Car probably needs other tinkering things, but everything should be easy fixes. Car is a project car. Car was listed last week and did not sell, had 55 watchers, the two biders bought other cars, and then backed out on last day. This is a NO Reserve auction, You win it, you own it.
