1987 300D Diesel, Vegetable oil or Biodiesel The 124 model is the beginning of the new generation of Mercedes-Benz. The body style is more contemporary and is the style is maintained well into the 90's. The engine is quite advanced and is on par with current designs with it's hydraulic lifters better fuel mileage etc. The suspension and handling is greatly improved from previously models. This is a great example of Mercedes-Benz engineering. Engine - 6 cylinder Turbo Diesel. The 6 cylinder MB engine is a vast improvement over the previous 5 cylinder engine. More power, smoother, quieter, faster, better fuel mileage, less maintenance, etc. Exterior - Great condition, newer paint, no dents. Interior - Great condition, no tears some wear on the drivers seat. Everything works, seats, mirrors, sun roof etc. Drive train - Lots of power, shifts good, handles good, brakes good, plenty of meat left on brake pads, all 4 rotors look good. New tires. A very enjoyable car to drive, nice freeway car. Conversion - Professionally done conversion, runs on diesel, vegetable oil or biodiesel or any combination. Explanation of salvage title - This car was purchased from the previous owner of Lovecraft Bio-conversions in Silverlake. What we have been told is that the car was salvaged for a blown motor, it was bought back for almost nothing an had a new (rebuilt ) motor installed. The car has been inspected and been given new registration which means it passed. There is no evidence of any frame or body damage so the story makes sense.
