For Sale is an absolutely rust free near perfect 1971 TR-6 with only 56,875 actual miles as documented by the clear Virginia Title. I have listed the car twice but it has yet to generate the interest it deserves. I am giving it one more try. If the bids are not commiserate with the cars value, it goes back into dry storage and will re appear in the spring when cars of this quality regularly fetch $15, 000 or greater. James May of BBC's Top Gear calls this car the "Blokiest Bloke's Car Ever" and states that it is the only convertible a "True Bloke" can drive with a clear conscience. Please take a look at the referenced Top Gear TR-6 video on youtube as well as the video of this car in the ad. Both are original Pimento Red. The car is in excellent condition as you can see from the extensive photographs. You can listen to the smoothness and effortless performance of this car in the video. I will outline for you the condition of the car and list a few of the improvements made. The car was refinished original Pimento Red in basecoat/clearcoat three years prior. The undercarriage and frame are rust free.The car is always garaged or stored under cover and is driven only in good weather, never in winter. The tires are Coker reproduction Michelin Redlines with less than 500 miles. The wire wheels have been trued and are rust free. The front end has been aligned and the car tracks and brakes straight. Brake pads and shoes are nearly new and braking is smooth and straight. The transmission shifts smoothly and all syncrhros function as they should. There is none of the "chatter" ofttimes present in TR-6 transmissions. There are no leaks. The clutch is nearly new and functions perfectly. The exhaust system including muffler and all pipes are brand new. New starter and ignition switch, and a new battery. Charging system is excellent. All electricals function as they should. New spark plug wires, spark plugs and electronic ignition system. All new hoses and belts, new valve cover gaskets. No leaks engine leaks anywhere. New convertible top. New seat covers and pads. New door panels with new door arm rest pads, new carpet throughout, new door trim gaskets, and new shift boot. Period radio which plays but cassete is non functional. The wooden dash is new. The instrument lighting rheostat needs to be replaced and the glove box latch is not yet installed. Please note that the pictures of the trunk under the spare tire show some dirt in the corners, this is not rust or even surface corrosion, just a little dirt. This is probably one of the nicest unrestored TR-6's you will find. This is an unmolested original which did not need restoration, only a little freshening as described above.
