Vehicle Detail
I bought this car 2 years ago after it was pulled out of a barn (literally.. a barn) in North Carolina. The car has a flathead V8, and the Fordomatic automatic transmission. It does start and run (when I first got it I replaced the battery/plugs and rebuilt the carb) but it smokes. Folks who know more than I about flatheads said that it's likely stuck rings and it would sort itself out as it ran more. The brakes are essentially non functioning... they will stop the car but I would not drive it in this condition. This would be the main reason why I haven't driven it to test the "stuck ring" theory. Moving it around the driveway to the garage is the extent of what I feel comfortable with. Don't plan to buy it and drive it home... The body has rust in all the places that these cars have rust (and patch panels are made) but it is uncut.. you won't be inheriting someone's poorly thought out chop where the windshield pillars are done but the back window is an abomination. The car is probably 95% complete maybe even more. I have some spares for some rusty or broken parts and a set of rear fender skirts. All the stainless is complete on the vehicle. I had plans to chop it and slam it. I have a C-notch/four link/airbag mounts that I am including in the sale. I just have too much on my plate.. and I would love the space in my garage back. As you can see, it's serving now as an excellent surf rack. I've already done the heavy lifting with the DMV to get a clean title and registration here in CA.. it's got plates and it's currently registered non-op. This is a relist, as it didn't hit reserve last time.. I'm listing it now without a reserve.
