Vehicle Detail

1979 Honda CR125R Elsinore Museum Quality 100% OriginalVehicle Description This bike is a display quality collectors item. It is 100% original, down to the original grips, levers and tires. It is NOT restored, and I don't believe it has ever even seen a bottle of Tahitian Red (the factory color) touch-up paint. I did not detail the bike prior to taking these photos today, I simply dusted it off. You are seeing the actual finish of the paint, engine, etc, and they have not been enhanced, or "fluffed" with some type of detail spray. The bike does have the slightest patina that proves it is not restored. Upon very close inspection you can find small boot wear marks on each side of the frame, and some stone chips at the bottom of the down tube and on the top of the swingarm (where the wheels would throw pebbles). Additionally, the handlebars have a few chips from being tied down, the tank has a super slight nick in the paint (1mm - no dent). All plastic is in very good condition. The nitrogen in the shocks has obviously dissipated so they will need a rebuild if you intend to ride or race this bike. All of the items I have described can be viewed in the photos. But that is really everything I can find on the bike. The tires are 30 year old original "claw-action" tires that the bike came with and are in very good condition. To the best of my knowledge, the bike has several hours of ride time on it. I have owned it for 7 years and it has been stored indoors in a controlled environment and started a couple times every year. I haven't ridden it in the time I have owned it.You will see Marty Smith's signature on the tank. It was displayed last year at an event and he was kind enough to sign it. The signature can be removed easily by the buyer if desired. .If you have any questions about the bike, please follow the "Ask seller a question" process and send me your phone number if you want me to call you.Regarding payment and shipping:$250 Paypal deposit due within 48 hours of auction close or "Buy-it-Now" This is a must to deter fake bidders. Balance due within 7 days by cash if picking up, or by bank check if shipping. However, bike will not be released until funds are verified. For a fee of $125, I can deliver the bike to the ForwardAir depot in St. Louis, MO. That fee will include tiedowns, locks and tender loving care and packing. As was customary 30 years ago, this off-road only motorcycle does not have a title. I will provide a bill of sale.I won't say this is the best original 1979 CR125R left in the world, but I think you would have to find one new in the crate or one that was unsold and lived on the dealer's floor for the last 30 years to beat it.Remember, bid with confidence and ask any and all questions first. Thanks!
