Vehicle Detail

You are bidding on a rare Factory XR7 1968 “F”- code Mercury Cougar with a 302 engine, A/C, and Disc Brakes. Total production numbers for 1968 Cougars is 81,014. Less than half of them had the XR7 option with only 32,712 made. This is one of them! I bought this car with plans to one day restore it. I don’t have the space and can’t afford to keep paying monthly storage. I bought it with a bill of sale only and no title. It has been out of the DMV records for over 10 years. I have all the paperwork necessary to get it registered. The floors have some rust as well as some portions of the top. The front hideaway headlights and front/rear bumpers are in the car along with a lot of extra parts. The engine, trans, suspension and rear end are all matching to the car! The original Vin plate is still intact on the right upper dash area. Will make a nice car if restored or can be used for parts. This will be a perfect donor car for a 6 cyl to V8 conversion on an early 1965-1968 Mustang or Falcon! All the parts you need are here. The Disc Brakes and motor turn freely. All the seats are all there. No reserve!!!! Below is a bit of History: Models: Hardtop Only: GT: Firmer suspension and better brakes, Wide Oval tires, low restriction exhaust, bigger sway bars, necessary identification badging, and a big block 390cid motor. XR-7: Wood-rimmed steering wheel, necessary exterior badging, black face competition type instrumentation in a simulated walnut dash, toggle switches, overhead console, leather T handle automatic transmission shifter, and leather seats. XR-7G: Same as XR-7 but included hood scoop, racing mirrors, running lamps, and hood pins. The "G" stood for Gurney. This refers to the famous road racer Dan Gurney.
