Vehicle Detail

This auction is for a 1995 Hummer H1 gas powered truck that's a little rough around the edges. It was originally a wagon but was rolled onto its top. I purchased it from the insurance company as a project truck to build up as a wheeling rig but just don't have the time to do it. Its been in my garage for a couple years while I tinkered on it here and there. It has a rebuilt Washington State title which I have in hand. The truck starts up first try and runs/drives fine. It has been started and idled or driven around the block for 30 minutes or so every couple of weeks the whole time I've had it. Here are the details: The bodywork is rough. The hood has fiberglass damage, the worst of which is on the drivers side front corner. The aluminum body has dents and scratches all over it and evidence of the roll, mostly in the area under the windshield frame where there are some bends/creases in the aluminum. It will never be a pretty truck again, but as far as I can tell it's structurally sound and would be a hell of a wheeling rig. The interior has been completely stripped and I don't have any of it. The doors were damaged in the roll and are also gone. There are a few hole where the heater core was removed and stuff like that that will need aluminum panels riveted onto them. The engine is a Chevy 350. There are no known issues with it. When the heater core was removed I replaced the upper radiator hose and the thermostat and put in fresh coolant. It has a new distributor cap and rotor. Runs strong and sounds great. It has two brand new K&N cone filters and prechargers attached to new silicone intake tubing. I don't have the original air filter canisters. The battery is a Die Hard Platinum that was brand new about a month before the truck was rolled. It has been kept charged the whole time. The CTIS is hooked up and inflates/deflates fine, but does go flat over the course of a couple days. I believe its the CTIS selector valve that is leaking and I have a new one, it's just not installed. The front springs are shot. I have a brand new set of springs and shocks that aren't installed and they will be included. One of the ball joints on the passenger side squeaks something fierce, it could probably stand to be replaced. I don't know how many miles are on the ball joints, actually, so they might all need some checking out.The truck was a wagon, but the top was dented beyond repair and was scrapped. Right now it has a factory soft top cage on it. The cage had two passenger sides but no drivers side, so on the drivers side the top bars were cut, swapped front to rear, sleeved internally with .25" thick DOM tubing then professionally tig welded. The drivers side grab handle bungs are on the outside of the truck now, so they will have to be moved or just removed. The structural tig welding is perfect and was done right, the rosette welds that were used to hold the internal sleeve in place before it was tig welded look terrible, but they aren't structural and could be ground down and filled. The windshield frame was a military soft top frame, and had the cups for the cage welded on. The welds seem sound, but they aren't pretty. I also have new windshield glass and all the original windshield hardware. The fuel gauge sender in the gas tank is shot; it never shows full on the gauge and goes to empty way before it's out of gas.I have the original seat belts and a couple spares, but a few of the retractors are stuck. You might be able to piece together 4 good seat belts out of them, but I bought 4 new non-retractable seat belts that I can include if you want them. The tires only have a few hundred miles on them, but the rear alignment has a lot of negative camber, so the rear tires are worn a little more than the fronts. They also have sweet aftermarket steel beadlock rings in them. They could also use a balance; they shake a lot around 50MPH.As far as I know those are the only known issues. This thing would make a sweet wheeling rig for someone that had the time to work on it. I just haven't had the time to give it the love it needs, and keeping my other H1 going strong takes any extra free time I have. The truck seems to be relatively free of major mechanical issues, but bear in mind it had 100k on it even before it was damaged. I have a box of misc. parts, bolts, etc. that I will throw in with the truck. I also have piles of other stuff that can be negotiated into the auction if you are interested. I have 6 military X doors that are really rough but would make sweet half doors if you cut the tops off. I also have 4 new soft doors and military camo soft top and hardware that have never been installed. The heater cores/HVAC are removed, but I still have them. I also have a bunch of other random stuff that we could talk about if you want to swing by and take a look. Due to the nature and condition of the vehicle I would strongly recommend coming to see the truck to make sure you know what you are getting into. It is located in Ellensburg, WA. The truck is being sold as-is and If you win the auction sight unseen please don't try and back out afterwards; winning the auction is a legally binding contract. It does run and drive but I would recommend trailering it to your location unless you live close. I would prefer local pickup but I would be willing to assist in shipping the truck if all the arrangements were made by the buyer. If you have any questions please email me. Thanks for looking. On Dec-01-10 at 10:36:47 PST, seller added the following information: I have had a couple questions regarding the condition of the frame since it was rolled. It was rolled on a dirt road and was the only vehicle involved. It just barely had enough momentum to roll over onto its top; it didn't tumble or roll multiple times. It was taken to a local auto repair shop and they said that the damage was isolated to the body and the frame etc. seemed to be fine. On the note of driving it home, the truck does not have current tabs and has not been licensed since last year. You'll probably want to trailer it home until you can get current plates/tabs. Here are a couple videos I took when I took the pics in the auction. One is of the engine starting and one is a general walkaround: Starting Walkaround On Dec-03-10 at 09:02:15 PST, seller added the following information: I've gotten a few questions about the air conditioning; the compressor is still mounted to the engine, but the condenser is gone from the radiator stack and I don't have it.
