Vehicle Detail

1965 Mustang factory A code 289 4V with Rally Pac. This Mustang appears to have 53K original miles and is an original black plate California car. This car was bought new by a woman in 1964 and was last licensed in 1974 by her, I have every registration from those years in her name. I bought the car from her son in law who inherited it. Sadly they have both passed on[mother and daughter] and I cannot verify the miles as original. This car runs excellent and is completely stock[other than hoses tune up parts etc]and original down to the carb with tag etc. There is a lifter tick[one lifter] that comes and goes when it is warming up, I have only run it a few times and it is happening less and less each time. I am sure it is a little sticky from its extended hibernation and it goes away completely when warm. Should go away all together with a little driving[since starting this auction I have started the car a couple of times with no noise at all], just adjusted the choke and she is purring like a kitten. The car still has a single exhaust with transverse mounted muffler! The tach in the Rally Pac works well but the clock is not working at this time. Everything else is the car works, horn, radio, heater etc. This car also has the brake warning light and rare remote trunk release! The release is sticky and will probably need lubed. This car is rust free! The bottom and trunk are really nice, the rear diff is completely dry on the outside! There is not even rust under the battery tray! This is a really clean car that will need paint and some minor interior work to be great. The car looks like it has some light damage on the left rear near the qtr extension[see pic] and was repainted many years ago. The paint job is slightly off the factory Vintage Burgandy and was poor when done. It will need to be redone, fortunately they did not repaint the trunk or under hood areas when this was taking place. As I was taking pics I noticed how nice the bottom of the car is so I started cleaning, in about 15 min I got what you see in the pics. I will try to continue on a little farther and post more pics of the bottom, trunk and interior. The car has had an oil change, a tune up, master cylinder and wheel cylinders to get it to driving condition. It will still need tires though, I have left the old E-78-14 bias ply tires on it and at least one has a flat spot from sitting. These will need to be replaced before driving it far. Would like to get some interior pics outside with better light as the weather improves in the next few days. If you have any questions call me at 425-308-0802. On Nov-26-10 at 16:42:32 PST, seller added the following information: I have cleaned some more of the bottom of the car and it is really nice! I only had room for one more picture[I added one] so if you would like some more pics of the bottom of the car let me know.
