Up for auction is this very clean, low mileage, 2002 sunroof car. The car is a PA garage kept car, the car spent most of its life in the Philadelphia area and was owned by an elderly couple (no joke). There were only 240 miles put on the car last year, so- we got it out this week and stretched its legs! I'll do us all a favor and explain everything as best as possible but, I asked a few things of you... #1.- If you are serious about the car, COME see it IN PERSON. We have no problem walking around the car over the phone but, we are a very busy shop and you will save everyone a lot of time by taking a drive to see it with your own eyes. We are: 2.5 hours from Phili, 2.5 hours from Washington D.C, 3 hours from NYC, 2 hours from Baltimore and 3 hours from Pittsburgh. #2.- Everyone always wants to ma ke offers over the phone, NO offers will be taken over the phone so, save your time. #3.- Yes, the car drives fine BUT, please do NOT ask us if the car will make it home. It is a 1976 vehicle...and we can NOT see the future... The car is fine- and it is as we say it is but, we are not perfect and it is posible we missed something, COME see it in person. #4.- Read the WHOLE auction BEFORE you call with questions, we have no time for stupid people...and if you are getting mad reading this- MOVE on and waste someone elses time. Recent new parts/ Service work: The car has a new PA state inspection as well as 4 new tires, recent brake calipers, brake hoses, brakes, NEW A/C compressor, NEW motor mounts, NEW Bosch alt., belts, hoses, plugs, wires, cap, wipers, and complete exhaust including muffler and battery. Engine / Transmission: The car runs strong, shifts fine, clutch is fine, car does NOT leak and does NOT smoke (not even on start up or decel.) I drove the car 73 miles TODAY (11/10/10) on the highway. The only thing I don't like about the drivetrain is the carb- the choke is not working correctly and it just does NOT like the cold! I had the car inside my heated garage and it started up great, I let it outside overnight and it was pissed at me! Stalled a few times and then it was ready to go. So, the carb/choke may need some work. Otherwise- engine is strong, trans and diff are 100%. Body / Paint: The overall appearance is BEAUTIFUL! The body is very solid and VERY clean. The car has been repainted at some point but, not recently. The car was orig. polaris silver and repainted Verona red. The previous owner told me "Mom and dad really just wanted a red 2002 and couldn't find the right one so, they had it painted Verona Red"! The paint job is a VERY high quality job! The chrome is bright and all there minus a few small dings and some scratches. The glass is clean, the windshield does have a stone chip (spaw) on the passenger side. The sunroof is very solid and works as it should. All the rubbers are in good shape and a few appear to have been replaced (door and trunk seals). The lenses are VERY nice, no cracks, no issues. The bumpers are shiney although there are scratches on both the front and rear as well as 2 small dings above the center grill...(Philadelphia parking!!) The car has a few small rust bubbles starting (under the paint) down at the bottom of the drivers side fender. The shock towers are beautiful as are the rocker panels and the spare tire well... You can tell its been garage kept! The previous owner told me there was a few patches made to the floor in the past, I looked myself and saw a nicely done repair on the drivers side floor as well as the passenger floor but, again- a very solid -quality repair. Interior: The interior is in GREAT shape!! PERFECT dash, PERFECT headliner, NICE seats with "real" sheep skins, VERY nice steering wheel (Looks like a DINO? says: "Made in Italy" in the backside.) The horn works, the radio works, all the guages work, INCLUDING the odometer AND tach!! Yes, that in itself is rare!!! The dome light works with the door and the key "buzzer" even works! Its just a nice car all around... The carpet and A/C are my only whines- the passenger side carpet is fraying a part and should really have a new carpet kit to be perfect. And thge A/C fan doesn't seem to be working- the HEATER fan DOES work. Car comes with 3 keys. Title / Odometer: The car has a clean PA title, title is in hand. I'm told the by the previous owner that the car is a 2 owner PA car and the odometer is true and correct. The title is marked "exempt" due to the year. But, having looked the car over myself, I truely believe it to be the orig. and correct miles. I was unable to run a carfax on the car- but, NO signs of a wreck or odometer tampering at all. Maybe Ebay's "Autocheck" will confirm this for us. (if so, see above- it shows it "after" the car is listed). Payment: If you bid on the car, you must have the money, we are serious sellers, we are a BMW repair shop- Not some joker who is going to relist this car 20 times...The car sells 1 time and 1 time ONLY. Bid to win. A non-refundable down payment is due within 48 hours of end of auction (Credit card, PAYPAL or cash in hand), the car must be paid in full within 3 days unless prior plans are made, (Credit card, or Cash in hand- PAYPAL can NOT be used to pay in full.) This means, you CALL us to make arrangements BEFORE you bid on the car. Tax, tags, etc: We issue PA temp. tags onsite, PA residents must pay all state sales taxes ,tags ,fees, etc. Out of state buyers have the option of a 30 day transit tag for $55.00. All buyers need a drivers lic. and valid insurance card in the buyers name. Shipping / Storage: The car must be picked up within 7 days unless PRIOR plans are made. We don't have a problem storing the car longer once its paid for and we have talked to the buyer. Again- CALL us FIRST to make arrangements.
