1930 model a 2dr sedan I bought this car from the estate of an avid model a lover who was active for years in the local model a club he passed away about 5 years ago and the family just recently decided to part with his pride and joy. The a hadn't been started in 2 or 3 years so we installed a new battery and fresh gas and it started right up with no major effort at all. I don't know anyhting about modela's but it didn't take but a drive down the road for me to figure out this is not for me. The engine fires right up and idles smooth but has a slight tick it sounds just like a lifter but again I don't know anything about these engines but it's definately upper end not a rod or anything no miss no smoke I drove it a few miles no prolem. The water pump leaks a little someone said it needs to be repacked whatever that means , brakes stop fine front end feels tight .The tires are later model but I have a complete set of original model a tires and wheels that are included there are 5 of them and they are like new I also have the spare that matches the ones on the car now .The interior is in excellent shape you couldn't get one much nicer inside . The paint is an older job the green is really nice and good enough for a driver I am sure it has been done many years and still holds a good shine there are a few dents in the hood and that is probably the worst part of the body the fenders are very straight but have a few cracks and some peeling if I kept it I would have repainted the fenders and considered the green good enough but if you want a show car it would be an easy one to update with new paint because it is pretty straight .I have tried to describe this car to the best of my ability feel free to call me if you need more info 870-692-0249 On Nov-10-10 at 18:55:36 PST, seller added the following information: thanks for all of the interest in the model a I had driven home the 2 miles from my shop to put it on ebay last night and I drove it to work this morning and I wanted to add that I beleive the carb may need to be cleaned because this morning I noticed it runs a lot better with the choke out part of the way and it was really cold natured at first I guess this should be expected from a 30 model that hasn't been ran in several years but I just don't want the wining bidder to have any surprises
