Vehicle Detail

TRULY A COLLECTORS CAR. The famous Mercedes W116 put the S-Class on the map. The pictures don't do this vehicles justice. If you are familiar with W116s not only do you not see them anymore, but never in this condition. Even the original vehicle invoice included. Excellent documentation including original Owner's Manual and Books. Beautiful gray/cognac color combination. Everything works on the car from the sunroof to the radio to the windows. Full transparency: The odometer recently stopped working. Mileage shown is 70681. I have service records showing the car had just over 60k miles in June 1999. You can see by the condition of the vehicle that the vehicle only appears to have 70,XXX miles on it. The one item that needs repair that I haven't gotten to is the typical issue with the driver's seat bolster (see pic). Repair is not expensive and a new seat on e-bay is $250. This is about as rare as it gets. Vehicle is garaged and covered in Atlanta, GA. Truly a time piece for Mercedes lovers. Good luck and happy bidding! Additional questions welcome. On Oct-03-10 at 20:18:36 PDT, seller added the following information:Didn't mention that I have the original invoice for this vehicle from the dealer showing that the original MSRP was $25,806.05. E-mail me for pictures. On Oct-20-10 at 06:13:55 PDT, seller added the following information: Hello Bidders! Drove the car over the weekend just to top the tank off, put fuel stabilizer in her and put back in storage. Always brings a smile driving an old S-Class. Guy stopped me at the gas station going crazy over the car. He was a 'vintage' Audi collector but very impressed by the car. I'm an upfront seller and the only thing that I noticed this weekend is that the sunroof was slow closing. Probably needs the tracks greased. I want to sell this car in this auction and if it doesn't sell, I'm going to put it up for the winter and try again in the Spring. Keep bidding or send me a private offer. Vehicle sold 'as is' with no warranties expressed or implied. Thanks!
