We are Wolfsburg Classic Restorations Today we are pleased to present for auction a fine automobile, A pristine 1972 Volkswagen Standard Beetle This car was lovingly restored by 2nd and 3rd generation Volkswagen enthusiasts, being totally stripped to bare metal and re-worked from the ground up this car is made to last. We realise that we will never re-coup the money and time invested in this car, But we want to get our name out there to promote our business, we restore Volkswagens like they should be like the factory built them . Every thing is done in-house from mechanical to body and paint , trim and electrical, ( even the ash trays were restored ) This is an all numbers matching car I.E..... original engine , transaxle , front beam ect ect. The body (shell) was painted completely stripped of wiring harness, doors, interior .....as can be seen in the pics. After the 6 coats of paint and 6 coats of clear were applied the whole car was color-sanded and buffed to a mirror finish.... We had a 73 year old retired VW dealership mechanic look it over and he says they didn't look this good new. The inner fenderwells and underside of fenders have been coated with a bedliner type material , also under the rear package tray ( near the engine) We take the utmost pride in our work and we welcome you to make an appointment to view this GEM in person. The doors are currently being color-sanded and polished and will take their positions on the car in the next day or two, we always put the doors on last to make interior installation hassle-free. The paint is Corvette Tuxedo Black (Urethane) Base coat / Clear Coat (BC/CC) Underneath the carpet is 1/2 in thick cork for insulation and sound-deadening on the floors and inside on the firewall to dampen the engine noise All Weatherstripping is new.........doors, window, trunk , hood, body to pan ..ect ect The winning bidder will have the option to choose either RESTORED factory steel wheels and hubcaps , or the natural finish Empi style 8 spoke wheels pictured on the car. This car was built to keep looking nice for years.
