1967 BMW CS COUPE 85% COMPLETE LOW-RUST CALIFORNIA CAR Clean california title; non-op since '96 [DMV verified] Stored indoors 1996 till 2008, sat partially covered past 1.5 yrs in mild silicon valley weather Has 4 Koni shocks [still work], rare clean 14" Cosmic alloy wheels [made in England] Nice fairly complete original car less a few bits Mainly all inside outside original factory trim n brightwork is straight, intact Seat paddings and door panels still good seat vinyl brittle some spots but intact all original there original mouse hair wool carpet worn; all the pieces of interior trunk/boot section present [to pattern new ones after] Wood trim mostly good; easy balsa wood pieces to cut/refit/refinish Had whole car professionally cleaned up down in out back forth to start working on it Performed serious close inspection to give client a cost estimate for full frame-up restoration Rusted spots on hood trunk rocker panel and spare tire well are 'trickle down water rust' meaning got externals rusty from sitting around neglected Any holes or corrosion bubbling [4-6 surface sections] is cosmetic damage. All subframes crossmember mounts-to-body doors hood trunk hinges box-beam sections corners crevices structural-integrity: some heavy surface rust but nothing serious. Magnet check all over body panels shows thin or no bondo action under there Missing: rear side panels, driveshaft exhaust mufflers [stolen] door keys lost over time have bought 2 original blanks fr BMW dealer, locksmith will rekey Ign n locks. Cheapo paint spray job [ but in correct color] done many years ago An ideal candidate for a 6 or 8 cyl conversion @ less cost than refitting original 2000cc 4 cyl w/ twin DCOE's Previous owner converted troublesome twin-side draft Solex carbs to an economical single barrel and head gasket leaked original circa 1967 cyl head is in trunk. A whole running car: 3.0 bavaria 325i 533 535i 635csi 735i costs $700-2200; easy 6 cyl running gear swap. You can buy a running one of these w/ a so-so engine and so-so paint job n interior for about US$8500 and certainly lots of rust on the front n rear suspension strut towers and rocker boxes this one has only cosmetic rust.
