Vehicle Detail
Classic 1974, porsche 911 project . Numbers matching car, No dents, super straight body, very minor surface rust around the emblem and a couple of spots on the hood. This car has the impossible to find Fuch alloy wheels (not cookie cutters) ,which are in great condition and normally run about $300.00- $500.00 each on a resto project( if you can find them). The 1974 is the first year model with the much desired, color match integrated front and rear bumpers. I also believe the 1974 & 75 were the only years Porsche did the body match bumpers, but still used the vintage chrome window trim and mirror. I bought the car 5 yrs ago to build, but have run into a home re-model, a downturn in my industry, and grand kids since then. I spoke to a Porsche specialist @ Motormeister in California a few years back and was told that only about 13,000 - 14,000 of these cars were built in 74 and only about 30%-35% were shipped to the U.S. He said the cars were becoming very rare and considering the condition it was in i had made quite a find They said they would do a core engine swap for $2800.00, or do a rebuild and phase 3 upgrade for about $4300.00 in order to keep the numbers matching. I also spoke with the haed tech, and co-owner of a Porsche builder in Little Rock, Ar. and was told almost the same exact thing about the great condition and value of the car. I dont really want to part with it but i'd like to see someone get it who would actually bring it back to life as a vintage resto ,or a nice race car project. it dose have the air aspirated 2.7 litre engine which is the most modified Porsche engine ever built. This is the exact platform the famous porsche RSR race cars were built on on 1974.
