Selling my 1987 Toyota Supra Turbo Targa 5spd. This car was originally rebuilt by my older brother in 1996, absolutely no time or money was spared during the build. It was published in Turbo Magazine in 1997, I have scanned the article to display it below. The Magazine says its an 88, but that was a mistake, it is an 87. Proven daily driver, with almost 30k miles on the motor it since the build, about 4-5 of those years being driven every day to and from work. Runs and drives like a stock car... until you lay into it. Ran a 12.09 second 1/4 mile at 116.5mph on street tires and pump gas at 18 pounds of boost. The motor and drive train were built with the intention of making big power, completely torn down, upgraded and rebuilt: -Stock block bored .040 over -Heat-treated, balanced crankshaft -Clevite bearings -JE custom forged pistons -Total Seal gapless rings -Lightweight wrist pins -ARP rod bolts -Ported and polished head -Bronze valve guides -Stainless-steel valves -GReddy GREX 1.5mm metal head gasket -ARP head bolts -Exhaust timing retarded 2 degrees -Port-matched, polished intake manifold -Fuel pump from 2JZ-GTE -TRUST GReddy Rebic LC computer -Bored out CT26 turbo W/oversized compressor -HKS manual boost controller -Spearco intercooler -GReddy blow-off valve -K&N Filtercharger -Polished exhaust manifold to remove slag -3.5" ceramic-wrapped downpipe -3.5" custom exhaust -High-flow muffler (Sounds great! Not ricey at all) -Centerforce dual-friction clutch Suspension, breaks, wheels and tires: -GReddy GREX front strut tower brace (not currently installed) -Tokico shocks -Eibach 2" lowering springs -Cross drilled rotors -BBS Moda M2 wheels (17x10 rear, 17x8 front) -315/35ZR17 rear, 265/40ZR17 front) tires Audio system: -Pioneer Premier DEH-P940MP head unit -Yamaha 4-channel amplifier -MTX Audio Thunder6000 T6.4 4" Speakers -Sony 8" subwoofer in custom box hidden behind the stock plastic hatch panel. In 2006 the body was disassembled for paint and the 89+ body and interior updates, including the new nose clip, valance, fog lights and the newer wing and tail light assemblies. The interior was also updated with the new style climate control, steering wheel, shift boot and dash trim. When the car was reassembled all new door, hatch and targa top gaskets were installed, along with all new window trim, all bought brand new from the Toyota dealership. Turbo was rebuilt about 2000 miles ago. It has brand new tires and struts all around with only about 1000 miles on them. The body and paint are overall in great shape with the exception of a few chips and minor scratches, absolutely zero rust. This is a 100% turn key daily driver with enough power to make your work commute a little more exciting, still has a/c, climate control and power everything.
