Vehicle Detail
For sale for restoration is an unmolested 1966 swb 911 in original Polo red with black vinyl interior. I purchased this car in 2006 along with a matching 1966 slate grey 911 which I have restored. At that time the cars had been in dry storage for 27 years awaiting a restoration which never came. I own three swb Porsches and have decided to sell this car to purchase a 356 for restoration. Please note the extensive number of photos representing this car. Take a look at the shock towers, rockers and structural components. The pre 68 swb 911's are increasingly difficult to find and this one is an excellent restoration candidate. The car includes the original transmission and the 2.0 liter weber carbed engine from a 1970 911T. This engine was in the slate grey 911 and ran before being removed, but I would certainly do a tear down if I were going to use it in the Polo Red car,. It could certainly be traded for another period correct 2.0 liter. I am including the proper flywheel to use this motor if you choose. The interior has mildew but cleans up quite nicely ( take a look at the passenger door panel before and after a five minute cleaning ). Please note that the car has four new radials installed to make it easier to move the car around. The calipers are all present and move freely. The seats are Recaro vintage, not original but they match nicely. I have removed the headrests but they are included. The original carpet set is included with the car., It is not perfect but would clean up nicely. The original Blaupunkt radio is installed and included. Note that all glass is present and free of nicks or scratches. The headliner is without rips or tears. Virtually all interior and exterior trim pieces are present. I have included some before and after pictures of the slate grey 911 to illustrate the Polo Red car's potential for restoration. I would consider trades for a 356 for restoration. Feel free to email if the pictures do not answer your questions. If you have a feedback of 3 or less your bid will be cancelled unless you have contacted by email for permission to bid. A deposit of $500 will be required by paypal within 24 hours of auction close and the balance by paypal or agreed upon method within 72 hours of auction close Thanks and good luck.
