Vehicle Detail
I have a 1949 Buick Roadmaster that is almost complete. The only thing missing is the rear window. It has a straight 8 and a dynaflow trans. The motor will turn over by hand, and if you charge the battery it starts to turn over on it own. The fuel tank is out of the car, I was planning on cleaning it out but never did. I am not a mechanic, but I think if you hook up the tank and clean the carb this car may run. It has ran and was driven a few years ago. At that time it was parked back in the same spot because it has no brakes. The body is not too bad. It has a few rust spots on the rockers, a softball sized hole in the drivers side floor board, and a whole under the spare tire in the trunk (I have pictures of all the bad spots). Other than that the car is solid and has no dents. The interior in the car is shot. The seat covers are nasty. The story I was told is the interior was in great shape, but it has sat out uncovered with a busted rear window for the last 7 years. So now it all needs replaced. As for the glass the 2 piece front windshield is in good shape, the rear windshield is gone, and some of the flat door glass is good and some is bad. I have listed everything I know about the car. It probably sounds horrible, because I wanted to let you know everything that was wrong with it. However this is solid really cool old car. With a weekend or two of work you could probably have it running and driving. It would make a great candidate for a full on restoration, because it is all there. Or you could just get it running and make a cool old rat rod out of it. I have the title in hand. It is a IL salvage title that was signed over by the owner back in 2003. I do not think that the car was ever wrecked it just got sent to a junk yard so it was issued a salvage title. Thank you and good luck bidding
