Vehicle Detail
Up for auction is my freshly restored, frame off, 1966 ford bronco. Most parts were purchased through toms broncos but some from wild horses and bronco graveyard. I will do my best to fully describe this vehicle, PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS BEFORE BIDDING AND READ ENTIRE DESCRIPTION BEFORE BIDDING!!! I tried to take a picture of the VIN plate on the left kick panel but my camera wont take it good enough to read. IF THE VEHICLE NEEDS SHIPPED I WILL NOT TRANSPORT BUT WILL HELP ANY WAY I CAN IN THE SHIPPING PROCESS. To start the body was stripped to bare metal, new floor pans and rocker panels welded in. ALL RUST REPAIRED OR REPLACED. Doors were soda blasted, windshield frame and tailgate sandblasted. New fenders were installed. The hood was replaced with a 1970 hood and does not have the windshield loop on it but could be easily installed. All was primed and painted 1982 chevy blue metallic with all body work done well. The body isnt perfect but looks great. The paint has some orange peel but looks awesome. Body has no runs or droops except on the drivers side of the top (see pictures). The top was painted satin black, inside of top is gloss black. New Bushwhacker flares were installed also. New emblems including the retro 5.0 emblems in place of the 289 emblems. New front turn signal assy's. New headlights and all new bulbs. All bolts and nuts throughout were replaced with new, most are stainless or zinc coated. New mirrors in and out. All weatherstripping was replaced and also a new windshield. New chrome bumpers and beauty bolts and front tow hooks from a 2005 f 150. Drivers window regulator was replaced as well as all windlace. New inner and outer door handles and locks. There is no headliner in it now. The undercarriage was prepped and painted gloss black with hardener. All new body bushings too. The frame was sand blasted and used rust oleum primer and satin black paint. All new springs with 2 inch lift in front and blocks in the rear. All new bushings and adjustable track bar and drag link. Steering stabilizer also installed to match the shocks. Rear end with 3.70 gears fully rebuilt, open diff, with new axle bearings and seals. Rear brakes replaced with wheel cylendars, springs and shoes installed. All new brake lines, some steel braided. Front converted to disc using chevy backing plates and calipers with new wheel bearings and seals. Front axle rebuilt with NEW ring and pinion 3.70 open diff with new u joints and lockout hubs. Both drivelines rebuilt and balanced. Front axle is a DANA 30. The engine is a 1991 CHP 5.0L fully rebuilt with stock cam. Converted to EFI using 1993 thunderbird harness and PCM and is a Mass air flow system, 2 O2 sensors. Brand new dual to single exhaust that dumps out in front of pass rear tire. Stainless steel fuel lines connected to a NEW 23 gallon fuel tank. Uses serpentine belt with a new saginaw p/s pump and used stock EB p/s box with no play. New water pump, thermostat, all new cooling rubber and coolant overflow reservoir. Ford coolant with water wetter also. New Ron Davis aluminum radiator for 5.0 setup. Fan is off of a mustang and is bolted solid to the water pump because of space issues. A/C compressor is on and not connected as I planned on turning it into an air compressor, never got to it. Upper intake is powder coated silver, engine is gray. Trans is a rebuilt T18 4 speed with granny gear. Transfer case is a rebuilt DANA 20 single stick. Has 15x10 Alcoa style wheels with new les schwab tires 33-12.5-15 all terrain tires that make no road noise. Interior is 3 tone blue, black with gray seats. Front seats are out of a 1995 ford probe and are not perfect but close, rear seat is the toms broncos fold and tumble and is new. Gray seat belts for 4.Has used gray console out of a 90's explorer, fits well. New black full carpet with new stainless trim. New wild horses floormats for the front with horse logo. New standard roll bar painted gloss black. Gauges all function but the charging gauge us inaccurate, doesn't move much and probobly isnt hooked up correctly. Fuel gauge is accurate. Oil pressure is 60 lbs and temp settles at 190 when warm. Speedo works good and is dead on, within 2 mph. New plastic glove box, headlight switch and heater cables. New w/shield wiper switch and converted to non synchronized electric wipers. Washer sys is all new and functional. All lights work but has no interior light. New turn signal switch installed. Cigar lighter works, and all knobs are new and are correct for 1966, except the lighter.Horn works good with new horn assy. New sunvisors and brackets also. Has a pioneer removable face c/d deck in the dash with 2 pioneer 6 by 9 speakers in boxes behind the front seats. The harness has been completely gone through and adapted to the EFI properly with a fuse/relay box added in. There is a non matching spare rim with a non matching tire that is the correct size, and has a custom tire cover on it.Also has a frame mounted trailer reciever with 2 inch ball and is wired for 4 prong flat plug. Hydraulic hood and latch shock kits were added and makes it nice to open them. This bronco runs and drives awesome.Almost no expense was spared during restoration. The trans shifts tight and has no noise except normal gear noise in granny and reverse. It took me some time to get used to shifting it since it is so tight. Goes straight down the road, no brake pull. I would put power brakes on, it stops well but since it has manual brakes it requires some foot pressure to stop. Steers good with no play. Rides great down the road. Has plenty of power, but not a ton of power. Should get great gas mileage. I have put 60 miles on it to break it in and work the bugs out, which there were none. Its been off road once down a dirt road to test the 4wd which works great. The ONLY BADS are: there are 2 small scratches in the paint, 1 on each qtr panel(see pics). The shifter boot for trans is not mounted. There is a small leak at the transfer case inspection plate barely leaks at all but does. The dipstick has a small leak where it goes into the pan, I cant get a wrench into the side of the pan to tighten it, probobly just needs tightened. The front end needs alinged. It was set with a tape measure for now. The frame was swapped out as the old one was torched off at the rear, so the VIN on the frame is not the same as the body. The body still retains the stock plate but does not match the frame. The VIN confirms it is a 66 frame as well as the rear shock mounts. The numbers on the frame are barely legible, I took the paint off at the numbers so they are more legible but this may cause registraion problems in some states. I would check with local laws before bidding to be sure you could register this with a different frame number. The registration is current, with a CA title based on the body VIN. Other than that this bronco is ready for whatever you want to throw at it. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU INSPECT IT FOR YOURSELF IF POSSIBLE BEFORE BIDDING IM HAPPY TO SHOW IT. I am only selling because my wife is pregnant with number three and we wont all fit in the bronco. Im going to get something nice that seats 5 comfortably. This car is sold AS IS WHERE IS,and is for sale locally and I reserve the right to pull this auction at any time if sold locally. a $1000 payment must be made via paypal within 24 hours of auction end, with full payment within 7 days unless otherwise discussed. Feel free to call me with any questions before bidding. 775-229-5918
