The truck was never meant to be a show truck, it was to be what we like to call a “Parts Hauler” The truck was painted by a local kid who wanted to practice his skills for a school project and it kinda shows here and there…looks great for 10 feet away or cruising down the street, but if you get close you can see where some more time was needed in areas…but like I said it was built to haul parts for Johnny’s Garage not be front and center at Pebble Beach. To get it moving down the road it has a rebuilt 350 with an RV Cam and straight cut gears with a rebuilt 350 Trans matted to it. A four inch drop axel and 4 inch lowered leaf springs with blocks bring it down to earth for that traditional look. It of course was C notched and new wood now adorns the bed of the truck to give it that tasteful hot rod feel. Some new bumpers were installed along with a new driveline to make it drive as good as it looks…now a truck that looks like this needs to sound just as mean so just a simple set of straight pipes were added to give it that growl that it needed.
