Vehicle Detail
This car is a project that took more than a year and more than $20,000.00 to complete not counting the time and labor that we did on it !!! this car Runs and drives perfect, the only modification done is converting it to 12V instead of 6V as it came from factory, it still needs a 12V regulator and some misc small details ... Open to trades with cash on top !!! We stated this as a family project, it was going to be my dad’s car for weekends and any day he wanted to enjoy it, he had one of these like 40 years ago. We purchased this car for $4000 from a person who was planning to do the same but never found time to do it, it was all rusty and had no interior, and engine was out of the car, bumpers and body liners were all rusty as well as the engine bay panels. We started by buying the complete interior according to manufacturer’s part numbers and original colors on the car, the interior is done by the original color codes but exterior was painted different from original as original was white the whole car, we decided to make it a two tone color paint… The engine was disassembled and new pistons, rods, rings, crank shaft, crank shaft main bearings, connecting rod bearings, and timing set was replaced on the block, the block was rectified on the machine shop, so engine was build with all new internals, the heads were sent to the machine shop to and new valves, retainers, valve springs, and many other parts were replaced for new ones too!!!!! Water and oil pumps are new, a new set of gaskets was purchased too for the engine building process. Brakes were done in all 4 wheels. This is a list of some of the parts purchased for the interior of the car: - New interior carpet set $240 - New headliner $150 - New door panels $480 - New seat covers $500 Engine parts: - Rod set (8) $560 - Pistons w/ pin set $ 640 - Crank shaft seals $30 - Crank shaft main bearings $105 - Oil filter $5.00 - Connecting rod bearings $80 - Timing set (cam, crank chain ) $55 - Piston ring kit $480 - Water pump $45 - Engine gasket kit $95 - Exhaust system ($500) Exterior parts: - New complete front bumper $400 - New complete rear bumper $400 - Wheel caps $120 - Complete Front Grille $250 - New gas tank $250 I am sure I missed half of the new and reconditioned items on the car but you will see by yourself the work done here !!!!!!! The body work was done here in Miami, all rusty panels were replaced in floor and exterior / engine bay parts, the cost including paint job was $6500. Assembly of the car has been the most difficult part on this project, and it’s something priceless because of the many daily hours of work to get it to the conditions it is now !!!! The Door handles for the driver side are been powder coated again thats why the dont appear on the pictures... and all engine stickers are to be installed, I have all the decals that came from factory !!!
