It is hard for me to say this...but... I'm selling my 1988 Daihatsu Charade. I absolutely love this car more than you know and it kills me to have to sell it. Why am I selling it? Just bought a new vehicle and have a little one on the way. I have to sell it to pay off Credit Cards to make room in my budget for the next few months. Its all about sacrifice :( So you ask what is wrong with this car? Absolutely nothing mechanically. Of course there are some dings and scratches in the paint it's 22 years old! The back seat facing the window needs a good sew job. Other than that the interior looks pretty good. All doors lock and windows work. Stereo works pretty good and includes a tape to connect an MP3 player. The guy before me used it as a daily commuter for 5 years or so and never had a single problem with it. I've been driving this car for about a year now back and forth to work. It has saved me over $600 in fuel costs alone. Not to mention my insurance for it is less than $20 bucks a month! The fuel pump went out on me back in April and I had my dad (mechanic) put one in for me. Super cheap fix. Other than that the tires are next to new. The car idles pretty well for being so old. And the gas mileage....WoW! Depending on how I drive I can range anywhere from 48mpgs to 62mpgs. Its been getting on average about 50. That's half highway and half city. If you are commuting to work only highway miles this little thing will save you tons of moneys! I have installed a Hydrogen Fuel Cell that helps with cleaning the engine, giving it a boost in power, and helps save gas mileage. If you don't want to use it there is a safety On/Off switch mounted by the steering wheel. I have driven about 2500 miles since the last oil change and its still not dirty... I recently repainted the rims, put new pedals and gear shifter on it (still have the old one if you don't like it). The gears shift nicely. O and i replaced the spark plugs about 5000 miles ago so they should be good, same with the air filter. I am giving this car a 1 year warranty if you use the Buy it Now option. WHAT! Yes a 1 year warranty. If anything happens to the car as far as power train or something. I will reimburse you $250 for the cost. Its a $250 guarantee. That's how confident I am of this vehicle. So say the clutch goes our or maybe it needs a battery. I will hit you up with $250 bucks. Remember this is only for the Buy it Now option. This car could pay for itself: Lets say your car gets 25 or the average car gets 25 mpg. That is a good car! Not. You buy this car that gets 50 mpg average. Average price per gallon of gas is $2.72 (straight from google) Average work commute: Going 30 miles per day of work 5 days a week. So 150 miles per week or 600 miles a month. The Average Car per week would cost: $16.32 My car per week would cost: $8.16 Savings per week: $8.16 Savings per month: $32.64 Savings per year: $424.32! That doesn't even include weekend road trips or potential savings from your insurance provider! I've saved over $600 dollars in just 8 months of driving this thing. It is well worth buying this car. The buyout will give you piece of mind with the extra warranty, plus a stylin new paint job! A bill of sale will be handed out and when the payment clears unless you are picking it up with cash then I will sign the title right over to you.
