Vehicle Detail
This 1967 red convertible Mustang has a RUNNING 2 barrel 8 cylinder 289 engine with an automatic transmission. The odmeter reads 51470, I am assuming it is over 100,000 miles. The engine runs very nicely. This is a project car that needs work, it has typical mustang structure problems. There is rust below the battery well. The brakes need fixing, there seems to be a leak coming from master cylinder, and from the front passenger side brake. The car runs but doesn't stop very well. With that said, the car will need to be towed to the new owner. I bought this car three weeks ago with the intention of restoring it myself. I have a pretty stressful life and I needed a hobby. I have never worked on a car in my life and I thought it would be a good time to learn. The second weekend I had it I tried to work on fixing the brakes, after watching you tube to learn how to bleed brakes I attempted it for over 5 hours. The end result: the back two brakes were bled and I never could find the right size wrench to bleed the front. The message I am trying to get accross is that I do not know alot about cars so I can't really list alot about what is wrong or what is right. The interior is all there but needs to be restored. I really would love to keep this car, but I was kidding myself when I thought I could do the work myself. I am just not that handy with cars and I do not want to put the money into having someone do the work for me. My reccomendation to the new owner is that her or she should be a mechanically inclined person that can do the work themself or be willing to put the money out to have someone do it for them. I must say it is a beautiful car and it looks great on my driveway.
