1940 Buick Special Original, straight-8, 3-speed column shift, 12-Volt conversion, Ivory steering wheel & knobs in excellent condition, chrome on dash board & doors excellent, faux wood grain on dash board & doors excellent, original clock & radio not working, gas & millage gauge not working, battery charge gauge is working. Tan cloth interior and ceiling excellent except for little water stain on front doors. Have brand new weather stripping which needs to be installed and is easy. Tan carpet needs replacing. All original glass in excellent condition. The body of this very special car is in excellent condition. No accidents ever. Chasis is one single part, not parts welded together. Black paint is newer & needs work where bubbling in some areas, and needs to be buffed out. Back bumper has ben recromed. Front bumper needs to be rechromed as it has heavy chipping. Both bumpers are in otherwise excellent conditon. Very very little rust underneath. A few years ago I had this car appraised. The man checked this car inside out, top to bottoml & underneath. He said he rarely sees cars this old with such little rust and said that all old cars have a little rust. He said this car is inbetween #2 and #3 condition on a scale of 1-5 with 1 being show room condition. Pair of original 1940 plates, one is oxidised, one is in excellent condition and has been stored in trunk. 16" chrome beauti rings. Running boards in excellent condition. Rubber topping for running boards optional and easily installs. Currently the running boards are painted black. Black sun visor is not included in this auction, and is available for sale seperately. I also have a black window mounted type air cooler. Both cooler and visor have been professionally primmered and painted, and are in excellent condition. 16" Wide White Wall tires in great condition, light use. No missing knobs or anything. This 1940 Buick Special is complete, all there, all matching part #'s. This is your chance to own a piece of pre-WWII history! We are the 3rd owner, been in our family for over 10 years. Used mainly in parades & car shows where the car received 1st & 2nd place. As for driving, this car is very very quiet when running, you cannot tell the engine is on. This car is a very smooth cruiser, drives very nicely. No major problems ever. Always a reliable, dependable driver. At the moment, the $135 Interstate battery needs replacing. This car has always been treated with TLC. Always registered and insured. Currently has PNO slip.
