Vehicle Detail

You are looking at a long-term restoration project that resulted in a very nice AMC truck. Unfortunately, it turned out too nice for me to take it off-road or to reserve it for snow duty. Fact is, I am not a show Jeep kind of guy and find that I just don't have a use for one sitting in the garage waiting for the Sunday drive around town. So, I thought I would see if there is someone out there that would be a better fit for such a truck. MOTOR: AMC 360 2bbl RB Heads, RV Cam, New Carb., Flowkooler pump, Dual Exhaust with stainless tips, MSD Ignition, MSD Coil, Optima Red Top Battery, New Alternator, New Starter, New Radiator, RB oil pump with midplate, 14x7 Air Hog Filter, New Belts and Hoses. Compression less than 2% difference between cylinders and holds good oil pressure. The upper rebuild was due to a burnt valve. Probably has less than 150 miles on the upper rebuild. TRANE: TH400 Auto, Quadratrac with low range, Dana 44 axles with 3.54 gears New Aux. Cooler, B&M Deep Cast Trans Pan, New Governor installed. Brakes rebuilt at all corners. BODY / INTERIOR: 99% Rust-Free and Upgraded The original bed was beat up and rusty, so it was replaced with a rust-free box from Southern California. The bed and cab was painted to match original color with Line-x added to the bed. There is no tailgate (hard to find a good one) and uses a sport net instead. A GM rear bumper was trimmed to fit the contours of the truck and installed. The body of the truck is really nice and the only visible rust is a silver-dollar sized hole beneath the horn on the inner fender...that is it. The previous owner installed new carpet, but had to sew up a bad cut along the transmission hump and I never replaced it as it was glued down in some places. I had the bench seat re-upholstered and had the door panels replaced to match the fabric. The dash has no cracks in it and it has the factory headliner. There is a sliding rear window and I replaced the door seals, but haven't adjusted the doors yet to close even with the body. All-in-all, this truck shines nicely and shows very well. Chrome spoke wheels and 95% tread tires. FLAWS: Can't be 31 years old with some There is some paint cracking below the brow. There are no speakers installed, but there is a vintage cassette player. The steering has some play in it, but front end is tight. Some of the dash knobs are loose. The ash trays aren't a perfect color match due to different fade levels. There is some damage to the headliner due to removal of some stickers leaving minor peeling of the surface. The doors close and latch, but need final adjusting. That small rust hole below the horn. No tailgate. The E-drive vac isn't functioning, but I never investigated problem as I drive it on nice days only. Lastly, it is too damn nice to use like a Jeep!
