1997 Ford F-250 Supercab XLT 4x4 Long Bed Solid Truck, Local Trade In, Pretty Nice Driver! Great Tires, Custom Camper + Bed Boxes/Bed, Shifts Well, Cold A/C, Clean No Road Salt History, Great Price! year 1997 drive train 4x4 make Ford ext color White model F-250 int color Maroon sub model Supercab XLT 4x4 Long Box vin 1FTHX26F9VEB49152 engine 7.3 Liter Powerstroke Turbo Diesel V8 mileage 239543 transmission Automatic OD stock # BB10626 about This is a neat pickup and a great buy. It was recently traded in at a new Ford store on a new rig. They don't sell stuff with mileage like this, so we acquired it from them. The truck is in pretty darn good shape for the mileage. It has a nice custom topper and bed setup. The truck drives very straight, shifts well, and runs out fine. It has good rubber, cold air, presentable interior, not too bad overall. The truck isn't new or perfect, but it's a solid rig and a great work vehicle, tow rig, or just an affordable 7.3 4x4. It's priced right and should have a long haul to go. exterior The paint and body on this pickup look pretty darn nice for the age and mileage. It has pretty good gloss, no body rust, no hail damage, and no obvious otherwise damage. The truck hasn't seen road salt which is nice, it spent most of its' life in Texas and a bit here in Colorado. The wheels are pretty fair, some oxidization. The tires are in great shape, nice deep even tread, no chop at all, even wear. The windshield is pretty good, no cracks. The topper doesn't match, but it does the trick. The truck isn't without 'character'. The right rear 1/4 is wrinkled. There's lots of nicks and dings down the bed sides. The lower rockers have some wear. The front bumper is tweaked, no wheel caps included. Yes, it has some scratches. Apart from all that :), it's all pretty sharp. The photos document everything, have a look. interior The interior is ok. It's seen the mileage but hasn't been abused, smells fine, not reeking of smoke or anything. The vinyl flooring is easy to clean. Several of the interior panels are worn, drivers door is pretty beat up. The drivers seat springs/cushion are worn so it feels more like a bucket than the others do. You could junkard the base and rebuild it with the current fabric, or just put in a whole new seat...or, just leave it the way it is, because it's not too bad. The air blows cold, locks work, stereo sounds nice, functioning on the whole. I can't guarantee every last knob is perfect, but she's pretty well all here. If you don't want the topper or the bed setup inside, we can remove either/both free of charge. mechanical This truck runs very strong when it's warmed up. It has good power, blow by to be expected with the mileage, but it's certainly not howling out the oil fill. It drives very straight and has just been aligned. This is one of the few 239k mile Ford that don't have totally worn out ball-joints, tie rod ends, and beat up leafs. It's an easy one to drive. The transmission shifts nicely cold or hot, never had any hiccups with that, and the fluid looks pretty nice. We changed the oil and filter on the truck. Believe it or not, the thing is almost bone dry underneath, really remarkably clean for the age and mileage. I'm sure it's seen proper service. The same guy likely drove it the first 195k miles, it's only a 3-owner pickup in the last 14 years. The truck is rather cold blooded when starting it. We haven't started it in anything less than about 45 degrees and it takes a bit of cranking at that. Either the glow plug timer is not giving the plugs enough time to heat up, or the plugs need replacing. I'm thinking it's probably the timer/relay, but not sure. These late 94-97 models had some issues with the relay harness up on top of the motor and that may play part. We really don't have time to handle it right now and that's reflected in the price. The truck runs fine after it starts, maybe 10-12 seconds of cranking, then a bit of chuggin' to clear out the unburnt diesel because it's been cranking for 10-12 seconds, then a nominal amount of warm up white smoke for 20 seconds; then everything's great. The motors is strong, not rattly or worn out fierce, but it still has the mileage. This truck should run out another 200k just fine. These trucks are very tough. comments This is a neat rig and a great buy. We guarantee original miles and clean title. Feel free to call if you're interested or have questions.
