Vehicle Detail
Here is an absolutely outstanding example of an original southern California, completely rust free 'black plate' 1964 Buick Riviera coupe. It has it's original matching # 425 c.i./340 HP "Wildcat 465" (for 465 ft-lbs of torque) nailhead engine and only 69,400 original miles, complete with original owners' manual and protecto-plate! The floor, trunk, and typical rust-prone areas are completely solid and rust-free -- this car is a garage queen. This Riv looks extremely impressive with one very nice re-paint in the original factory 'Silver Cloud' color and the black vinyl interior is in superior and stock condition. The brightwork on the dash, the matching silver/gray headliner, and original carpets are in amazing original shape as is all the glass. The drive train is original and largely untouched (as you would expect with 69K) and this particular vehicle drives perfect, straight and smooth. This car has good power steering and brakes, tilt wheel, and the original 'Sonomatic' radio. It was owned for over forty years by one original San Diego owner until his death in '05. Although not concours, this car is a show worthy, strong, and excellent survivor and a joy to drive. "One of the most beautiful cars America ever built" as stated by Pininfarina at the Riviera debut at the Paris auto show in 1963.
