Vehicle Detail
Where do I start? This project started with a GENUINE, RUST FREE 15,000 mile Chrysler Cordoba owned by an 87 yo man liquidating his car collection because he could no longer drive. This vehicle has new Garnet Red Metallic paint with CLEARCOAT, tires (Goodrich Radial TA's), Monroe shocks, vinyl roof, U-Joints, completely tuned, transmission service and runs like a new car (it should as it is for all intensive purposes a new car). The troublesome thermoquad was replaced long ago with an Edelbrock carb. Hold the accelerator 1/2 way down, Turn the key and the 360 V8 4bbl fires right up. Run into the store, grab my coffee, get into the car and touch the key, no accelerator needed. The torqueflite 727 shifts briskly and smoothly. Stomp on the accelerator and a gentle rumble can be heard as the transmission downshifts and the secondaries open. The air conditioning blows cold and has been converted to 134a. The stereo has been upgraded to a SONY XPLODE with 4 speakers and remote. The interior has NO rips, slight discoloration (I am including leather dye), a small crack on the dashpad. The chronometer works perfectly, the steering wheel has a leather cover as the plastic underneath has a couple of cracks. The instrument panel trim over the glovebox is aluminum "turned" and has 300 emblem again from a 1979 Cordoba 300 For you Chrysler afficionados, you know the 1979 Cordoba 300 marked the end of the first generation Cordobas but arguably the 1975-1977 Cordobas had sexier lines and styling. While restoring this car, I took cues from the 300 letter series Chyrslers from the 50's to today. The vinyl roof sports 300 emblems from the 2006 300M, the opera windows are etched with "300" and are from the 1979 Chrysler 300, the "300" emblems on the front fenders are custom made, the Cordoba grille has a 1962 Chrysler 300 grille insert installed as is the "300" stand up hood ornament. I have attached many photos but have not attached one of the trunk. It is MINT, rust free and has a new trunkseal Lastly, the car was pinstriped in blue and white and wears the original Chrysler wire wheelcovers. Why am I selling? My son graduated from college and I want to use the proceeds to repay his loans.
