1976 Leyland Mini with clear NC title. I bought this complete but it had been sitting out in the weather and apparently the previous owner allowed rain to get into the engine. I have removed the engine and gearbox and completely disassembled the engine but not the gearbox. I have parts bagged and labeled. Block was bad but I have since purchased: a good block that only needs honing and cam bearings, a good camshaft, a head with new springs that has been recently rebuilt (but to me it appears to have had a poor valve job and needs to be redone), and a brand new original HS4 carb. Crank is okay but will need to be hot tanked due to rust on crankweights and then a treated to a good polishing. Pistons are useable but the rods have rust on them so they will have to be cleaned up. Some of the gears in the gearbox have some rust - 2nd, 3rd, and countergear. I think they will work as is but it would be best to replace them. To put this back together you will need bearings, gaskets, lifters, etc. in addition to the machine work necessary. Previous owner removed glass and external parts and began bodywork but did not get far. Body needs attention at the fenders, A panels, and at least on the driver side the panel that the door hinge bolts to. It opens and closes but appears someone opened it too far and damaged the previously repaired hinge panel. Also has rust on passenger side rocker, rear quarter, right front corner of the roof, and under headlights. Windshield frame is solid except for a ~3 inch area of the pinchweld as shown in photo. Backglass pinchweld is rust free. Floors are solid. Comes with everything including all glass, door hardware, mirrors, wipers, and some moldings. The door panels and inner quarter panels are missing as well as the hood prop rod. Seats are in decent shape, the carpet is fairly new, tires have some cracking. Steering feel nice and tight and the park brake works but the regular brakes do not - feels like the master for the brakes and the master for the clutch both need rebuilding.
