I am the second owner of this exceptional 1990 Miata. The first owner was a retired Air Force Officer who lived in Fayetteville, NC. According to his son, from whom I purchased the car, it was the first Miata to arrive in Fayetteville. His Dad drove the car for approximately 6 years prior to his passing in 1996. His mother, being understandably distressed at the passing of her husband, could not bear to see the car sitting in the garage and consequently requested her son to place the car in climate-controlled storage where it remained for 10 years. At that time, his mother requested that her son remove the car from storage, drive and enjoy it. Prior to registering the car in North Carolina, the son went completely through the car from top to bottom and front to back to eliminate the effects of long-term storage. Among the work completed was flushing the gas tank, replacing fuel and brake lines, installing new brake pads, replacing the timing belt, fan belt, all hoses, spark plugs and plug wires. He also installed new 60,000 mile radial tires and a new battery. I have, in storage, the original daisy wheels and those tires, on which there are less than 5000 miles. The paint on this vehicle is original. Options on this car include A/C and cruise control. NOTE: This car does not have power steering. Total documented mileage is 39,000. My investment in this Miata, including the purchase price, is over $9000. Since I purchased the car in October of 2009, the following work has been completed and the following items have been installed: O Wet-sanding the paint to bring back the shine and minimize the fading that had occurred. O Purchased and installed Nardi Classico walnut steering wheel and matching shift knob. O Custom leather interior. O Mach III wheels and Toyo Praxis tires. O Borla cat-back dual exhaust. O New water pump and crank seals. O Audiovox Cruise control. O Newly-designed Center Console with twin cup holders. O Robinson Tonneau Cover. O A/C Serviced and converted from R-12 to R-134 Freon. O Replaced several weathered rubberized trim pieces around the windows and windshield. This car is completely documented with receipts for any and all work completed since new. It has the original window sticker, as well as three 1989 magazines introducing and presenting initial road tests of the new Miata. (Road & Track, March 1989…Car and Driver, March 1989 and Car and Driver, September 1989). The engine runs strong and burns no oil. Everything works. This low-mileage Miata is in exceptional shape for its age, and deserves a new home in which it will be appreciated as such. Additional photos upon request.
