Vehicle Detail
Yes, that's right! This is a 9 year old vehicle with only 32,000 miles. We are fortunate enough to have a summer home in the North Carolina mountains where my wife has enjoyed this beautiful converrible for the last six years. We are the second owner and we purchased it with less than 10,000 miles. Since then, my wife has drives it only in the summer and it has always been kept in the garage, and so the convertible top is in great shape and shows little sign of age or wear. This Volvo C70 Convertible is sexy enough to make you forget that you're driving a car built by a company best known for crashing its vehicles into walls. Most people know that Volvo spends a lot of time and money building safe vehicles. However, it also features a transverse-mounted, turbocharged, all-aluminum inline five-cylinder engine that puts out 236-horsepower and is coupled to a five speed automattic transmission. Accelerating from 0 to 60 mph takes less than 8 seconds and the car boasts a top speed of 130 mph. The brakes, too, are built to match the C70's potential for speed: The fun of driving with the top down is enhanced by the fully automatic system that lowers the windows, opens the storage compartment, lowers the top into the compartment, and automatically covers it with the boot and trim. Add to the fun of drop-top driving with the C70's taut suspensions and crisp steering and you've got a great ride. At the instrument cluster, black numerals on handsome light gray gauges are easy to read and reverse at night to white on black. The audio system is a 400-watt, 12-speaker system with an in-dash three-CD changer. The Dolby Pro-Logic system senses whether the top is up or down and adjusts volume accordingly. Standard equipment includes remote keyless entry, cruise control, air conditioning, a trip computer, a tilt-telescope steering column, heated power outside mirrors, and power windows and door locks. HomeLink is an integrated remote-control system that can be programmed to open garage doors and turn on house lights. True to the Volvo reputation, safety is paramount. Rollover hoops, which normally are folded down behind the standard head restraints in the back seat, activate automatically if the car flips over. Volvo's Side Impact Protection System airbag offers head, shoulder, and torso protection. C70s also feature Volvo's Whiplash Protection System (WHIPS), which helps protect front-seat occupants in the event of a rear impact. Even with 20 pictures, it is hard to beleive that this car is 9 years old. The oil has been changed meticulously every 3000 miles, and it even has new tires that were installed in the last 1000 miles. It has a clean Carfax Report and is all original except for the sun visor and vanity light mount, which was originally installed with a plastic pin, and was replaced by a stainless steel fastener. The visor and mirror operate fine, but the vanity light does not.
