Vehicle Detail
You are looking at a 1972 Chevrolet C-10 shortbox, 2wd pickup. This is a true shortbox not a cut down longbox like so many for sale! It is also a rare metal box not wood and is a leaf spring truck not the standard coil spring rear-end that 90% of them were. The truck started life as a CST in white with white houndstooth interior. Since then the exterior color has been changed to Black and has had all of the CST bright trim and emblems removed. The paint is stunning. The body is stick straight and Rust Free! The paint is show quality and shows excellent even under fluorescent light. The interior retains the original Houndstooth interior and looks good (driver quality). The factory a/c is all intact except for the compressor and mounting bracket. The truck has the factory gauge pack including the factory tach and everything works great. The fuel gauge is right on, the oil pressure and temp gauges read within range, and the tach is dead on. The gauges are clear and bright, The truck also has a factory tilt column that is tight and maintains the shift indicator that is in great shape as well. The bed is in good shape with a few small dings and has been rhino lined. The tailgate has been smoothed and is awesome. The motor starts right up, souns great, and runs very well. The transmission shifts firm enough to envoke a good chirp and a couple feet of rubber on the first - second shift. The rear end is a 12 bolt and I believe it is the original. The dual exhaust sound good and is in great shape. The truck rolls on a set of American Racing Torque Thrust 17 x 8" wheels and like new Toyo 275-55-17 proxes tires all the way around. The glass and bright trim are in great shape with no scratches / chips/ etc... The interior does need a set of sill plates (they are missing). The dash is un-cut and still carries the original radio which is very rare. The headliner is all there and in good shape. The dashpad is nice with no cracks or damage, and there is a very rare "mileage gauge" (vacuum) mounted on the dash that I believe was a dealer installed option in the early 70's. Make no mistake this is a very nice driving truck that starts, stops, steers, etc. without any issues PERIOD. This is a very nice, solid, rust free truck that has a great foundation for a high dollar show piece. All of the hard / expensive work has been done. I have the truck available locally and am realist on it's value. The truck will sell to the high bidder once the reserve is met without exception. Serious bidders please feel free to e-mail or call me with any questions. cookscarco@gmail.com or 1-(208)-746-7040. I will be out of town from the 3rd through the 6th so I will not be availalble to respond to questions until I get back that is why I have chosen a 10 day listing not a 7 day. I would like any serious buyer to have plenty of time to have all of their questions answered and funds available. If you have zero (0) or negative (-) feedback please contact me before bidding. Shipping is at buyers expense but I will be happy to help with arrangements or store the truck after the sale in a climate controlled shop for up to 30 days if you would like to pick it up in person. Thank you for looking and good luck with the auction.
