You are reading about a 1990 MBZ 300 SEL in decent condition. It needs work and I will describe the best I can what I have been told/know that needs to be repaired or replaced. I purchased in June 2006 with 129,000 miles. The items I had repaired/replaced at the time were - Mono valve insert, antenna mast, replace belt - belt tensioner - belt adjust rod & shock, window switch, front driveline disk, accelerator pedal, csi control unit. I didn't fix the cruise control and the in-dash wiring had a little glitch. Once in a while when one of the temp buttons was pushed harder than normal, the radio would change channels. Annoying when listening to a good song or a Rockies baseball game, but not enough to have it looked at Forgot to mention that the alternator was replaced and a new battery about 3 months ago. CURRENT NEEDS: * Rear brakes - 1 caliper and both pads. Not sure about the front. * Front end alignment - front tires worn, rears a little better * Mono belt - worn/cracked * AC - Worked intermittently when I garaged it last year. (Purchased a E320 4-matic wagon) Now it only blows hot air. Pushing the temp buttons doesn't seem to change any function. Wondering if the wiring problem I had when I purchased finally took it's toll? The condenser seems to kick in and run but the heater only blows hot air. ??? * Minor tune up recommended * Engine mounts are flat * Coolant, trans fluid, brake fluid dirty * A little play in the shifter - bushing missing (missing when purchased) New Issue - Need to know * Took the car out of mothballs but no buyer. So, decided to drive it Sunday to my favorite Black Hawk, Colorado casino for my monthly "give away my money" black jack trip. (135 mile round trip). After about 5 minutes into my return trip the "check engine" light came on. It went out in about 2 minutes. Didn't come back on. Stopped to eat in Denver. Started my last 30 miles home and again the light came on after about 5 minutes and went out again in 2-3 minutes. Didn't come back on for the rest of the trip home. Called my mechanic this morning. Could be a number of things - the tune up it needs, fouled plug, oxygen sensor or something as simple as needing a new gas cap or? INTERIOR: * Parchment color leather. * No tears, rips in upholstery or headliner * No cracks in dash * Wood trim on counsel and radio area has cracks * Carpet - no tears or rips - 21years old EXTERIOR: See pictures * Paint: (2 pictures) Entire car has little scratches and 12-15 splotches. Wasn't this way when I purchased. Started to look this way last spring after I used a synthetic wax - ICE. Used twice and the scratches appeared and more splotches appeared.(There were only 3-4 splotches when I purchased). Don't know if it was actually the wax, but no scratches until after use. * Dents: (1 picture) Two small dents above passenger side windshield. They were there when I purchased. (1 picture) One small "bork" on hood. There when i purchased * Door Dings: Both sides of car. Can't see on pictures * Rust spot: (1 picture) One quarter size spot on left rear panel between the plastic and metal. * Glass/light covers: All good. No cracks * Wheels: Two need to be refinished. Other two are Ok. * Sunroof: Works both ways * ELECTRICAL: All works, except possibly (probably) the auto temp panel. "See AC explanation". Some of the digits for the radio numbers don't show all the lines. Also advertised locally. I reserve the right to end the auction early.
