Vehicle Detail
This is a 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that has the 4.0L strait 6 and auto trans. It is completely loaded with: power windows and locks, original working key fob, power heated leather seats, power heated mirrors, auto dim rear view mirror, sunroof, auto headlights, cruise, AC, trailer hitch and wiring, 4x4, 3.55 gears. This Jeep runs great. The biggest thing with this Jeep is that it has almost 300k mi on it. Even with this mileage, it starts every time and has never broken down on me. Running compression was at 90-100psi on all cylinders; exactly where it should be on a used engine. I have driven it back and forth on a 160mi trip about 15-20 times and never had a problem with it. It is very reliable. The oil doesn't even turn black between oil changes. The only reason I'm getting rid of this Jeep is that I found something more fuel efficient. The exhaust is good with no holes and a new muffler, it should last years before there is any rust problems, even up here in the rust belt. The 4x4 works great, 2 Hi, 4 Hi PT, 4Hi FT, and 4Low all work perfectly. It goes right in and out with no grinds or problems. The trans also works great and shifts smoothly, and is set up for towing, see the next paragraph for everything I did. I did all these precautions with the trans because I was pulling a trailer and didn't want any problems with the trans. The interior is in good condition, with a few worn spots, and a few small stains, no rips or large stains. I have done a lot of work to it and the previous owner has done some work to it too. The previous owner said he had the: headlight buckets, grille, headlight, fender replaced because of a minor fender bender. The only thing that doesn't match is the pinstriping and a plastic trim piece. He replaced the blower and blower resister. All 4 brake pads and rotors are replaced. Rear end rebuilt. U-joints replaced. Water pump. The trans was replaced with a good used one that I was told had 75k mi on it when replaced (probably has 85-90k on it now). He said he spent $4000 on it and I have no reason not to believe him; everything he claimed to have replaced looked new when I bought it. I have replaced the: trans fluid (ATF+4), added trans cooler, put in Lucas trans conditioner, serpentine belt, recharged the AC (blows very cold), brake light switch, trailer wiring, water injection (for better gas mileage), spark plugs, oil cleaned and synthetic oil put in, 4x4 fixed, muffler, O2 sensor, e brake shoes. It also comes with a current NYSI good until 4/11. The body is not perfect but far from bad. There is rust on the front of the hood, and 2 rust holes on each of the rockers. There is very little rust underneath, and all of it is only surface rust that's there. The things that are wrong with it are just minor things. Some dash lights don’t work, the vehicle information center doesn’t work (they always break on Jeeps), the 4x4 light doesn’t come on, the drivers side seat warmer doesn’t work, the fog lights have been removed but wiring still works fine, the radio and speakers are shot. The door locks are frozen, but the original key fob works fine, so no need to use them. You can email me or call me at 585-402-3308.
