Vehicle Detail

This little Jeep was my wife's first car and daily transportation from 1996 until June of 2008, when we bought a new Acadia because she was 5 months pregnant with our first child. We planned on keeping it as a third car, but we so rarely use it that it doesn't make sense to keep it. We always fixed anything that broke or wore out, and as you can see from the photos we did our best to keep it in perfect shape. The Jeep is a 1989 with a 4.2L 6 cylinder and a five speed manual transmission. It is a custom color purple, and the interior and dash are a lighter shade of grey than original. It has both the hardtop and a factory softtop(also grey), bestop seats and center console, a sound bar(speakers overhead), a Weber carburetor, a JVC CD player, and a Viper alarm with immobilizer. We had just done a lot of work to the truck shortly before buying the Acadia, unfortunately we spent more than it is probably worth, but here is a list of the parts and recent work done: Approximately 5,500 miles on a fully rebuilt motor: the block was boiled and bored, the crankshaft polished, new pistons, rings and bearings, new timing chain and gears, new camshaft and bearings, new lifters. The cylinder head was milled and new valve guides and seats installed, new valves and springs as well. Also a new thermostat, water pump, belts, hoses, spark plugs, wires, cap and rotor. I also replaced the radiator and heater core and upgraded the cooling system to GU5 antifreeze. While the motor was out I thought I might as well replace the clutch and pressure plate, slave cylinder/throwout bearing, clutch master cylinder and rear u-joints. Other recently replaced parts( meaning 10,000 miles ago or less) include a new windshield, 4 goodyear tires, 4 wheel brakes, and a catalytic converter. The carpet, seatbelts and outside door handles are also fairly new. The paint on the Jeep is near perfect, a few chips on the front fenders, a few small scratches. There are no dings, dents or rust spots. The interior is very nice, though the shift knob is a little worn, and the driver's seatbelt has a black stain. There are a few other issues, I will list them here: First off, the truck could really use new shock absorbers. The turn signals don't always cancel automatically, many times you must move the lever yourself. The hardtop is from a 1995 Jeep and the wiring plug on it is different than the one on the body, so the rear defrost and rear wiper doesn't work. Also the battery gauge reads lower than it should, but the truck charges just fine(its been that way for twelve years). Other than those few small problems, this Jeep should give years of great service to a new owner. It was inspected in New York at the end of April, and I wouldn't hesitate to say it could be driven anywhere. Hopefully I didn't leave anything out, contact me if you have any questions. Thanks and happy bidding!
