Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is a 1993 Honda CBR600 F2 sport bike. I bought the bike on Ebay several years ago. It was running fine at the time, but I wanted to etch and coat the gas tank as well as do the bodywork and paint job for all the fairing pieces. When I completed the tank, I spent HOURS on the bodywork, ultimately painting everything with professional Limco automotive paint in the same "sunset orange metallic" used on '03-'04 Hummers. When I remounted the tank, though, I couldn't get it to start. If I sprayed starter fluid into the carb, it would run for a few seconds, then die. Frustrated, I sent it to a local shop to have it repaired, and after they cleaned and adjusted the carb, it ran great. I drove it for a few weeks, and then one day, while doing about 70 on the highway, the bike just died. After attempting to get it started again (exactly the same as before - starter fluid in the carb that would only make it run for a few seconds before dying), I put the bike away, never getting it repaired again and never finishing the job of putting all the fairing pieces back on the bike. It has been sitting ever since, and I simply do not have the time to do the work neccessary to get the bike finished, so I am putting it up for auction for someone who does. All of the fairing pieces are in perfect condition, except for some chips on the nose and tail pieces (from the time the bike has spent in storage) that you can see in the picture of the bike. The tank has some scuffing (also from storage), but it should come out with some buffing. There are several small cuts in the leather seat, again from the time it has spent in storage. I don't know what the shelf life is on the Limco paint, but the buyer is more than welcome to have what I have left of it if they think they can use it. The air cleaner and plugs are new, the tires are almost new with plenty of tread left, and I recently recharged the battery. All she needs is someone who can repair the carb properly, finish putting the fairing together and change the oil (I have several oil filters for the high bidder, as well), and they will have a very nice ride! Buyer is responsible for making arrangements to either pick up or have the bike shipped, but I will do whatever I can on my end to help make it go smoothly. I accept Paypal or cash only, and i require a $200 deposit via Paypal within 48 hours of the end of the auction if you plan to pay the balance in cash upon pickup of the bike. I reserve the right to cancel bids from anyone with overly negative feedback. I have been an Ebay member for over a decade with almost 500 positive feedbacks, so bid with complete confidence! Remember, this is a NO RESERVE auction, so whatever the bike goes for above the $500 starting bid, THAT'S WHAT IT GOES FOR! Good luck!
