Vehicle Detail
1965 Ford Mustang Fastback Extremely Well Done Shelby Replica 5 Speed! You are viewing a 1965 Mustang Fastback that has been heavily modified to be made into a Shelby vintage racer! This car is no cheap thrown together Mustang with some Shelby stripes added and then called a clone. I will try to describe to the best of my abillity this amazing car! This is a 2006 build and has approx. 6000 miles since built. BODY: Car started out an arizona rust free V8 Raven black fastback, Car was completely disassembled, and media blasted. Then a Sheby front apron, REAL Shelby functional steel and glass hood, FUNCTIONAL (Brake ducts installed) Shelby side scoops, Shelby grill, Shelby R glass fenders, Shelby R windshield, Shelby R rear window (nice for air flow , check pic), Rivited Shelby R window covers, then the body was sanded & sanded & sanded & then many coats of laquer were applied, then the stripes were painted on using correct Shelby stencils and all new weatherstripping and rubber stops put on. The floors, frame rails, shock towers wheelhouses, door bottoms, quarters, everything is rock solid! All stickers are easily removable. I do have a perfect rear bumper also. Body is beautiful! INTERIOR: Again everything was removed and replaced. New carpet, headliner, GT40 vented seat covers (great for road racing), All Shelby R guage bezel with the red & green lights, door panels, radio delete, even ALL of the rear interior is exspensive Shelby R panels, including rear seat delete panels. A six point roll bar w/ simpson harnesses and a fire suppression system was installed. Everything looks crisp & new! DRIVETRAIN: Brand new ford racing block stroked out to 347 with all forged internals, high volume oil pump, Canfield 7 qt. oil pan, topped off with a set of fully polished & ported Canfield heads, Lunati Cam, High rise aluminum intake, Fully worked Holley race carb. A beautiful huge custom fabbed aluminum radiator, dual cooling fans ( on switch), Radiator mounted Oil cooler, Etc. I just can't remember everything that gone into this motor, Just look at the way it's mounted, this motor was built with the best of everything and is extremely strong. I have dyno & spec sheets on the motor. Dyno'd at 527 HP at the rear wheels. Jet coated long tube headers and Flowmaster Exhaust. Transmission is a New Tremec 5 speed with a dual clutch kit and a Hurst shifter. Rearend is a new Currie Ford Nine Inch locker with oversized axles and 350 gears. The car is crazy fast and sounds amazing! SUSPENSION: Of course hooked up with engine bracing, Konig shocks, spherical tie rod ends, traction bars, all new Polygraphite bushings, and best of all a 4 wheel disc brake set up, with drilled & slotted rotors, & all brake and fuel lines are all new stainless with AN fittings. 16 Gallon fuel cell & trunk mount 900 CCA battery. Car rests on a vintage set of AR Torque Thrust D w/ nice rubber. I'm sure I've missed alot, but hopefully you get the picture. There was over $60K invested in this car, and is not like the rest of the so called clones. This car is ready for the track, vintage road racing or drag. Perfect for the wine & cheese crowd or weekend racer. It is not streetable in its current configuration (at least not in my state). The only thing it needs to pass inspection is blinkers, wipers & a horn. Then you've got one hell of a street car. Please ask any questions for a quick answer. You can come see the car most anytime & I have a lift in my garage. I am not a dealer, just a hobbyist. Funds must clear before car leaves my shop. I will store inside for a reasonable ammount of time untill you can get your shipping together & I will do all I can to help. I'm always interested in trading. On Aug-27-10 at 13:19:26 PDT, seller added the following information: ***** For all of you asking. The car was built by Cobra Automotive in Wallingford, CT. Check out their web site, and look at what their cars are selling for, and I don't see any that are as nice mine. Engine tuning was done by Carlquist Competition Engines in Oakville, CT. Check them out. You will see what kind of car we have here. I can fax dyno spread sheets to any serious bidders. Thanks for the interest.
