1980 HONDA CM400A HONDAMATIC (AUTOMATIC) TRANSMISSION WITH ONLY 5890 MILES. Brand new tires front and rear, also HAS A new battery. Tires were replaced due to aging and normal small cracking.. Due to low seating, low weight and automatic transmission, this is an excellent bike for beginners, seniors and ladies.. I bought it because I had a stroke and could no longer ride my new Shadow Spirit due to not being able to shift.. I have bought seven new Hondas and a dozen used bikes (mostly 750's) over the years (I am 68 now) and this is the best condition used bike that I have ever owned. The AUTOMATIC transmission is in low with one move up and in drive with a second move up. You can hit it twice at startup and take off in drive if you want eliminating all shifting. Four years ago, I rode my '01 shadow Spirit (chain drive) from Chicago to Santa Monica via Route 66 and I would trust this bike to make the same trip today. The 400 cc is two cylindars and the bike rides on the road more similar to a 750 than a 250. GAS TANK IS CLEAN. It gets up to highway speed very quickly if you want it to. The bike has a very nice combination luggage rack and back rest. The back rest easily adjusts back for a rider or forward for riding solo. Chrome and paint and exhaust pipes are superb. Bike gets arouind 65 MPG OR MORE. The 400 is also advertised for sale locally and we reserve the right to end this auction early is it sells locally before there is a winning bid on eBay.
