Vehicle Detail

I have a few things for sale on EBAY right now so you can see the quality of stuff that I am selling... I am selling a bunch of my collection to fund the restoration of a 1948 Matthews wooden Yacht. I didn't think that I would ever sell this truck as I have now spent the better part of three years working on this... chipping away here and there. I started with a CJ8 with 57,000 original miles. I purchased the truck for 8K... it was completely original, a weathered interior but straight as an arrow and in need of some paint. The sun faded the original red color so I was going to give her a quick spray. Well... because I can not leave anything alone, I started pulling the CJ apart and ended up doing the better part of a frame off restoration. The truck was 99% rust free... there was some minor work in the floors, everything was cut out and the truck is now 110% rust free. The entire tub was then media blasted, the underside, bed and floors were all Line X'ed after primer. The body of the tub itself has been extensively worked on and it is ready for a final sand and paint. I was going to bring this CJ to Barrett Jackson and so I did everything at a high level of quality. The window frame, hood, tailgate & fenders as well as the half top are all in fantastic shape. No rust whatsoever on the steel parts and the fiberglass top is 100%. These peices just need final prep, prime and paint. By the way... the photos look HORRIBLE, they are taken with an I-Phone in a dark storage area and everything is covered with dust. I just dont have the time to spend three hours washing parts when I am giong to take a serious bath on this Jeep. The project was held up for over a year because I was trying to figure out the color for the truck. I spent over 12K on the frame, axles & suspension alone... We stripped the frame, blasted it to near white, dipped it and then primed and Line-X'ed the entire frame. It is bullet proof and will never rust unless you drive this through the Atlantic Ocean daily. The axles have been upgraded to one piece, the diff's rebuilt and the truck now sits atop a 4" OME YJ lift. Larger Springs, reverse shackles, Bilstein shocks, etc..... everything you can do to a CJ to make her ride better. Every bolt in the frame, except the hardened ones are are now 316 SS. The brake lines have all been replaced and are Stainless Steel. The engine had 64,000 original miles. My original plan was to put a W123 Mercedes Turbo Diesel in the CJ and so we set the engine aside. Then, when my plans were to go to Barrett Jackson, I figured we should retain the original matching numbers. After all, there were only 23,000 of these made. I then went out a bought box's of parts, headers, carb, intake, wires, etc. etc. etc. The engine was stripped and was going to be bored .30 over and fitted with an aluminum head... then I found the boat last week. Now I am going to part with the project and hand it over to someone else. What she needs: 1. Final Prep of body panels and paint. The underside, tub and frame are all Line X'ed 2. Order Piston Kit and reassemble engine. I have thousands of dollars of box'd engine stuff. 3. I threw away the seats, gauges, visors and dash. All can be had online and I wanted it PERFECT so I tossed a few things. 4. Re-assembly... Again, have thousands of dollars of parts in boxes. All new hinges, flares, mirrors, lights, fuel filler, etc. etc. etc. I dont have everything, but have tons of stuff. I will try to get some pictures or a better description within a day or two. I dont even remember what is there. I have atleast 30k into this project. I know what I have, know that a project has very little value but I will just put this back in storage if everyone tries to nickel dime me. This very well could be one of the best in existence with some easy work ahead. At any rate, I am checking the water to see what this will fetch.... Please email me and I will return your questions immediately. Thanks for looking... On Jun-09-10 at 19:28:28 PDT, seller added the following information: In the pictures... of the doors specifically, there looks like there is real rust. This is just surface from raw metal. There is ZERO rust on this truck. A little surface, that is it.
