Vehicle Detail

*** NO RESERVE *** 1965 CHEVELLE 300 *** NO RESERVE *** DRAG RACE SETUP / STREETABLE Up for auction is my 1965 300 Deluxe 2-door post sedan. THIS IS A NO RESERVE AUCTION. The car has been modified extensively with drag racing in mind and has not retained many of it's stock production components. The car is complete and either street or strip ready depending on your (or local law enforcement and DMV's) definition of a street car. I did not build the car. My intentions for the car were to work it into the mid-10's to specifically run in PSCA's Mean Street (10.60) and Open Comp classes as well as our local bracket racing series. It is probably still a good set of heads, a transbrake, and a torque converter away from those numbers. As it sits right now, the car will run 11.40's - .45's at corrected altitudes of around 4,000'. I've put approximately 20 passes and 200 street miles on the current engine build. Car's last pass was Mar. '09. I have basically run out of patience and wallet waiting for this economy to turn around so that I could move forward with it. That's the story... here are the details: CHASSIS: Mild steel 2x3 tube back-half with a 4-link and coil overs - Tubbed - Aluminum floor - 10 point mild steel cage (but without passenger door diagonal) - Stock from the firewall forward including K-frame and suspension - Front disc brakes (stock GM stuff), rear drums - Manual brakes - Line Lock - Manual steering - Stock fuel tank plumbed stainless braided, tank to carb. EXTERIOR BODY / TRIM: Overall, the body and trim are in good condition, but not what I'd call show worthy. All steel and factory glass except the hood - Have the factory unmolested hood that will go with the car to the winning bidder - Fiberglass hood on car is cracked - There are other minor chips, scratches, dings around the body - All glass is in good condition, no chips or cracks, but some scratches are present - Door windows fully operational - Quarter glasses have been made stationary - Weatherstripping throughout car is fair. INTERIOR: The interior is in good condition. All surfaces are covered with appropriate material, no bare metal, including headliner. Ididit tilt column - New all electric (except speedo) AutoMeter panel on a Covan's blank panel - Hurst pistol grip shifter - Seats are fixed position- no adjustments - Crow Enterprizes 5-point driver harness good to 05/11 - Toggle ignition / pushbutton start - No heat and no A/C in this car. RUNNING GEAR: 400 Trans - TCI shield (SFI 4.1) - Dana 60 (4.88) spool - Summers Bros Axles - Centerline Convo Pros - Hoosier 31x16.5x15 Quick Time Pros - ENGINE: 496 CI BBC - Sonic tested, internally balanced, and dyno'd (but not assembled) by HBR Competition Engines - ARP studded mains and heads - Forged rotating assembly - JE SRP full floaters - H-beams - Mechanical flat tappet Custom Cam supplied by HBR - .598-250 / .598-260, LSA 110 - GM iron heads, oval, ported, 119cc - 2.19/1.88 - Milodon 7qt pan - Weiand Team-G intake - QuickFuel 830 carb - All MSD ignition - Griffin aluminum radiator - Hooker Competition ceramic coated headers - 3" exhaust to Flowmaster 40's. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ I have personally plunked over $10K into this car NOT including the initial purchase price. This car could be taken to the track tonight, pass tech, and make passes with nothing more needed other than a little fuel. All lights, turn signals, tail/stop, low/hi beam, and wipers function as they should. Just keep in mind you're running 4.88's on a spool, manual brakes and steering- not a good combination for the street. This vehicle was previously listed here in a no reserve auction. Winning bidder encountered a family emergency after placing the bid and we mutually and respectfully agreed to cancel the transaction. Thank you for looking and watching. Good luck to all bidders. Any questions are certainly welcome. If you happen to find yourself in the area, I will do my best to accommodate any requests to view the car. This is a NO RESERVE auction. Deposit of $1000.00 is due 48 hours after end of auction, balance due in 7 days. Title transfer and change of possession occurs only after all funds are cleared to seller's account. Winning bidder will be responsible for all transportation arrangements and expenses.
