Vehicle Detail
I bought this bike with intentions of restoring it for my sons. Unfortunately, my plans have drastically changed. I don't do 2 cycle bikes and I'm not too interested in learning about them. The guy I bought it from said that it hadn't been run in about 3 years. It makes sense because the title was last issued in 2006. I took off the carbs and nominally cleaned out the bowls and jets. From what I could see, at least one bowl gasket needed replacing. The petcock is not clogged but it could probably use new gaskets. I put a cheap battery on it and it started on the first kick, but would stay not running for more than a few 10-15 seconds. Gas was draining out through one of the carbs.. I didn't want to go any further because I'm not familiar with 2 cycle bikes and I don't have a book. I don't know anything about these types of bikes, but I assumed that it would have a center stand---this bike does not. The front tire is dry rotted/back tire appears to be good (Dunlop). The speedo cable looks like it needs replacing. The plastic cap on the 2-cycle oil tank is glued together. The paint on the tank is faded and scratched but no dents. A couple of seams on the seat are starting to split. The lights, horn and electric start work (starter doesn't always engage). It looks like the bulb is blown on the speedo dial---the light works on the tach. Also, I just bought a pair of correct front turn signals (on of them, the yellow side reflector is missing). They'll go with the bike. I don't know anything else about the bike. Other than that, this bike looks like a wonderful candidate for restoration. Or will make a wonderful parts bike. Please ask questions. I have more pictures---if you send me your email, I'd be happy to send them. And come and check it out if you're serious about buying it. Also, please understand that this bike will need work before it becomes a reliable road machine. I'm no mechanic, but the bike seems like it would be an easy project. Sold as is, so please bid with caution. No international shipping. If you want it shipped, you'll have to make the arrangements. However, I'm happy to help in any reasonable way. $100 deposit required via Paypal within 48 hours of auctions end. Balance due upon pickup. I want this bike gone, so make a serious offer if you have one. I might even be interested in a t.r.a.d.e for an early- to mid-seventies Honda cb or Suzuki Savage (any year).
