Vehicle Detail

1972 BMW 3.0 CS in original Agave Green urethane enamel ( not clear coat) with tan leather interior. Leather has some age cracking but is in remarkable shape for a 38 year old car. The wool carpets in the cabin and trunk are as new. The original Blaupunkt radio and speaker are in the car and work as new without distortion. New brake pads and vented rotors, new alternator and battery and recent tune up with new points, plugs, rotor button, distributor cap, coil, and valve adjustment. Everything operates as it should with no rattles shimmies or undue vibration. The power windows work without chatter., but are very sluggish and will need adjustment and a cleaning of the tracks. The air conditioning compressor and dryer were absent when I purchased the car three years ago. I have purchased a new compressor which goes with the car. The ride and handling are excellent, and the car is very fast. I would refer you to the accompanying video. Although I drive the car very gently, I did want to illustrate that the car does indeed accelerate briskly and as shown in the video does chirp tires in all four gears, handle flat in a sharp turn at 70mph and stops straight in short order. Seriously, the car is very fast and could definitely show it's heels to a 911, of the same vintage. I can say this because I own two 1966 911's , and this car is definitely faster than either of them. NOTE that the photos are in a frame inside the listing, so make sure to use the extra scroll bar to see all the photos and the you tube video at bottom. Additionally, a deposit of $1000 USD via PayPal is required within 24 hours of auction close, with full payment by PayPal or cashier's check via overnight mail. Cashier's check must clear BEFORE car is collected. If you have 0 feedback, you MUST email me BEFORE bidding or your bid will be canceled immediately. On Aug-22-10 at 12:55:22 PDT, seller added the following information: ** I feel compelled to add this addendum to my listing. I am surprised at the timbre of some of the questions I have received. I have tried to be a thorough as practicable with my answers. When I purchased the car three years ago the car had rust limited to the top of both front fenders. The balance of the car was without rust although it had received a very poor paint job in the past. As such, the car was fully stripped prior to painting and the top of both front fenders were repaired using a combination of both welded metal and thin filler. The body work was done by a trusted body shop that has repaired and repainted two Porsches, Two Mercedes, Three BMW, and is refurbishing my daughters 1973 Z-28. His work is excellent and I have had no returning rust issues on any of the cars he has painted for me. I do not have itemized receipts for every minor detail of the work. The mechanical work was all most entirely by myself and my two sons. This is an excellent car, it mechanically 99%, The interior is easily 90%, the suspension and brakes are 100%. I chose to repair the original fenders and keep the car original rather than remove and replace them. Cost was not an issue. The car is all original, unmolested and I preferred to keep it that way. The buyer of this car will deal with Karmen's body work as long as he or she owns it. I will freely allow any one to retract their bid up to 12 hours prior to the end of the listing, all you have to do is request it!! I don't want any one to buy this car who does not feel comfortable with their bid. Conversely , Ask your questions before that 12 hours, as I will answer no questions after that time and will not allow bid retractions. With regard to payment for the car. Yes, I do require prepay. The final bid price is not the point at which someone shows up and begins negotiations for a better price. Ebay Motors used to be fun, I have bought over a dozen and sold three or four cars on Ebay. It's supposed to be fun and exciting to buy a classic car. On Ebay it now seems to be just a chore.
